I want to ask everyone here, what if we never invaded Iraq? What if we let Saddam Hussein build up military strength, and actually start producing Nuclear weapons? What if we let Saddam's Iraq go nuclear? Would we be able to just go into Iraq when they start expanding into Kuwait? Better yet, why would they stop there? After we let Iraq control a majority of the Middle east by using their power over both oil and nuclear weapons, then what? Will you same whining babies be saying, we should have done something earlier!! Why didn't Bush see this coming?!?! Cuz I guarantee you that you would. Good day. Argue this one, I dare ya.

Well, actually... Just recently I read an article in my World Geography class (Yes, I'm a Freshman) and stated that one of the leaders in Libya practically agreed to cease it's WMD program in return for economic sanctions and an Embassy in Tripoli just days after Saddam was captured. Later, more centrifuges were intercepted headed for Germany, but it's obvious that Saddam's debunking had more of an effect than originally thought.

Faith, I think you're getting a little out of hand. Take a chill pill and please get your facts straight. I didn't exactly read most of your posts because of your inability to use proper grammar...

ok so you guys are saying that this war was necessary because of "what if's"? If we're basing foreign policy on what if's then what if castro got nukes and decided to use them on us. What if canada gets mad and decides to nuke us? What if i get a nuke and decide to use it on the US? does that mean we should invade cuba, canada, and kill me...just because someday it might happen.
I love how you guys keep coming up with reasons on why the war is necessary. I also love how i've been called "unpatriotic" because i'm against the war. So please all you extremely intelligent people, please answer these questions for me. How is this war helping america? How are the BILLIONS of dollars that are going to iraq helping america? For every soldier who dies, how was his/her death helping america? Tell me how having saddam hussein in custody is protecting america more than having osama bin laden?

UGM, you have some validity in what you say, but I must make some corrections. Number one: Canada doesn't have nukes. Number two: Whether we like it or not, America is seen as the world's policemen. Because of our vast army, we're expected to fix everything wrong in the world. If we don't do something, the world will say that 'You've got the weapons and you didn't use them', look at the Bosnia tragedy, everyone was asking 'Why, why doesn't America do something, they're just being idle' and because we didn't do anything, we lost a rep point, putting it in layman terms. Now that we are doing something, we're seen as tyrants and idiots.

ok so if we're seen as the world's policeman, then why did we go in with no support? As you said we're seen as tyrants and idiots, maybe because it was the wrong thing to police! And we were the idiots because the rest of the world could see it but bush in all his idiocy can't figure out what's a threat and what isn't. I'm suprised he hasn't tried to outlaw pretzels.

Our 'support' was only looking at Iraq in terms of money, seeing as they were getting bribes from Saddam.

Oy vey, *shakes head* Calling a country like the U.S. a tyrant....(what ever happened to Pakistan, South Africa, North Korea, the Sudan, Vietnam, China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt,...takes a huge breath....) We give more money in aid to every country in the world then any other country can ever imagine to make. We give more money to AIDS, Malaria, and Cancer research then any other nation. We liberated Afghanistan. I want you all to read about the current state of democracy in Afghanistan. Then go and do a search for me. Life under the Taliban vs. Life Under Democracy. Now I want you to do the same for Iraq. "Life under Saddam vs. Life Under Democracy." Now if you go and tell me life was better under the previous regimes, not only are you blatantly lying, but you would also be ignoring every fact thrown at you. In psychology there is something known as the "Confirmation Bias". It simply means that instead of doing what I asked of you, you will probably look for something that confirms your opinion. But for once I want you to read up on what the "opposition" has to say. I read both sides of the story. And right now to tell me that the U.S. is a tyrant for the way we are treating Iraq and Afghanistan is just sheer insanity. Better yet, ludicrous! Bu

... Iraq isn't under a democracy... And as soon as we take the troops out, which will be a couple years, I know, it'll probably go straight back under dictatorship or something.
But wait... Is TroGdor saying he agrees with UGM or is against...? l0l =\

We dont NEED an army huh? Thats the hippie mentality you're creating for yourself there. Yeah, lets just strip ourselves of defense and get overthrown. Whatever happens to America, dont be suprised, Canada will be affected largely - So you might want to think of moving a little farther. If you really want to move to Canada, then go. What's stopping you? Good riddance.
I never said we didnt need an army. I said our army shouldn't even be in Iraq. Comprehension 101 please. I hear it's cheap these days.[/QUOTE]
By you: But when you think about it, we dont even need an army! If we had just let the UN take control and the organizations they worked for, I'm sure the US wouldn't be hated worldwide like it is today.
Look at your message, you never said that we didnt need an army in Iraq. Try not to make smart-*** comments without looking at your own message first.

Nubli you make a straight on attack at me that was completely stupid and then commented later proving that you don't even know what you're saying anymore...And I don't think he ripped me a new asshole. I think he just ruined his own argument. And because there are so many people running in here just saying things like "Oh you can't come up with new reasons to stay so that we can do more than we intended to!" Bush Snr. stopped when he got Saddam out of Kuwait because that was his goal and he didn't persue Saddam...THAT was a mistake. And people running in saying "OmG Bush lickz BALLZ LOLZLOLZLOlZ!!11!!" I think that just about puts Republicans ahead on maturity atleast.

I am very mad about what happened with that helicopter today....thats alot of americans dying for a worthless cause....We are know as the strongest nation then y do we give freedom in return....I china was the strongest they would give communism and world domination in return...I think the Us should change our veiws if we are gonna start this shit....I think bush is an imperialist witch hasnt been fixed since the 20th century...u think we would have learned from ww1 and ww2 that imperialism is bad...if we are gonna start wars and start conflicts then we better change our modo from we give freedom to if u dont listen we shove a nuke down ur throats...Thats what USA should be like if we wanna go to war...Also my view on the war is we are supposed to have the strongest and best well equip army when that is not the issue....We have a shortage of men and a lot of our troops are poorly equiped with armor....Another point that should be brought up under the name of bush is our economy is in the shitter...Yah i know it started slipping during the end of Clintons term but it has only gotten worse and worse since bush came in...Now ppl are loseing all there jobs.. and jobs are going away and such....Makes the Us look prety worthless....Bush has done countless stupid stuff like lower tarrifs<-----trade taxes on steel....DUR! thats what the USA is made FOR....STEEL...DAMN I HATE BUSH!!!!!
CLINTON RULES!!!!!!!!!!

The economy isn't completely Bush's fault. Although he plays a big role in what is causing it to be shitty, it's the fact that people ship the good jobs oversees and then the Mexicans are stealing jobs in America, and Bush was supposed to pass a law that let Mexicans enter the borders without Visas and BS, I don't think he did, though... Perfect example of Mexicans taking jobs:
My mother went to a place hiring jobs, don't know what for, though. When she got there she saw that there were like 4 white people and the rest were all Mexican. And this is in Iowa. Waaaay too many people entering the borders. =\
