I love it when people say that the only Americans were Indians. Indians originally migrated from Asia during the Ice Age when there was a land bridge. Remember that from 8th grade history class?

Times change and so does standards. Just because Indians were here before us does not mean that we do not have a place here. Our ancestors, assuming you actually are rooted in America, forcefully took the land from the Indians, I agree. However, this was MANY years ago, and how many Indians do you know who still hold that against the white man? If you say you know some, you are probably lying.

Gay and Christian does not go hand in hand because a verse in Leviticus states that "a man shall not lay with another man as a woman," and vice versa.

It has nothing to do with homosexuality being an only upper-class type thing. Many of the authors of the Old Testament(where the original anti-gay line was written) were supposedly kings and the like, so many of them were very much high class.

well maybe, but during the 'roman army' regin it was very likely to have same sex intercourse than that of a commoner... but anyways....

the number one main reason same sex intercourse is wrong, blatently wrong, is you cannot impregnate a man. christians wait until they are married before having sex, and the reason they get married is to have children. so how are gay christians anything but wrong?

My parents are Christian, and I doubt they would agree with that. That was true hundreds of years ago, but now getting married gives Christians justification for having sex. Premarital sex is taboo to most Christians.

In Greek society it was actually impolite if you didn't ***-bone your best friends kid. Homosexuality was not taboo until Christians/Jews came around. Homosexuality was actually accepted in many cultures pre-westernization.

if marriage is a sacred institution of christianity, why are so many laws based on it?
why are so many benefits and rewards based around a christian link between a man and a women who have sex?
sex is sex. marriage only came along when the first caveman discovered that sex created babies. before that, sex was just something people did and babies just happened
im a hardcore agnostic and i will believe in nothing but the facts. i will believe in no god, no afterlife, and no bible until i get the proof in front of me that it's not a bunch of bs
im not against religion, i just dont choose to accept it
as for my opinion about gays, i hate them. i make fun of them. but i will not deny them their rights as a american citizen and a human being just because ive been so brainwashed by society about right and wrong
i believe that religion does have its merits in creating civilization but i also believe that we have outgrown it and that science is our next step toward a higher society

I have a probelm with most sort's of religion based off of so many reason's, but my number one reason is that religion seem's to cause such a sexual perversion, that's how come we get so many pedophiles and rapists because no one seem's to aknowledge that people like this can be helped and that they are this way because they have suppresed talking about sex except in the most bizzarre way's and with other perverted people and no one would like to aknowledge that they are this way, because they them selves had it happen to them at one point or another.
We all know that religion is what make's sex such a taboo thing, now imagine being pent up for say 20 years and when ever you think about sex for any other purpose then having a child it is a sin...Dunno about you, but I'd go a little crazy. from this we get people who some how twist thing's around in thier heads so badly that they get a whole new meaning and/or lose thier conscience.

This is just my oppinion though people.

WAIT! Are you saying you dont want to be a christain cause there is work involved? If thats so then it has to be one of the WORST reasons I have ever heard for someone not wanting to be a christain. I'm not saying that because of that your still a faithful christain I'm just saying that personally I think your "hating" for all the wrong reasons.

LOL! "high and mighty" christians are funny people. Most of the time they are so ignorant of their religous past its easy to get them worked into a tizzy and storm off. One was trying to tell me once that God's love and caring was so comforting to them and knowing "their" God wasnt a vengful god. So I asked for her bible and started to point out all the great vengful things God HAS done to people just to apparently prove he/she exists. Her mouth dropped to the floor and just walked away stutering in disbelief.

If your going to "hate" something you should always be as well educated and versed in a subject as the "non-hater".

I don't know Christianity is sort of weird because well from what my friends have told me, you have to be a christian, must believe in god in order to go to heaven, seems sorta wrong to me.

Ok here i go on my little speal. There will never be religion tought in public school because serperation of church and state and public school is state. So just throw that idea out the window.

Second i have no religion but if i did i would say im athiest. I dont need to rely on a so called "god" to make me happy in life. I beilive that people are afraid of death and they dont want to be so they make religions and make a better place after death up like "heaven" they do this so they think when they die they go to a better place and they wont have to worry about dieing and wont be scared. And when other people die around them they done get as sad because they truly beilive that there is a better place and a "god" I think this is total bs i think that people need to stop worrying about getting to "heaven" or whereever in different religions and start living life and having fun fck death who gives a sht worrying about it will make your life miserable and shtty and youll never be able to expirience all thats out there. People waste their life with religion. So much time is put into this for what? For a better feeling? If thats true there really isnt anything wrong with it i guess...but people critisize me all the fckin time because of my views and my opinion and there usually christians because they beilive that all there ideas are right and everyone elses are wrong. im pretty dam sick of it too it pisses me off byond beilive. I get into discussions with people about religion and all i get is your wrong nope your wrong your ideas arent right but mine are...i mean what the hell is bs...and all those dam people who die and come back...and then say the saw god and a light at the end of a tunnel and al this sht all they want is attention..im sure there will be many people on this forum who will shake their heads at me in disgust well i think the same of you

This pretty much sums up how I feel about religion. True, there are loopholes in the theory of evolution, but there is at least some evidence to back it up. With any religion you want to talk about, all they can provide is the faith of the followers. If you just want to go on faith, I have much more faith in evolution than I do in being created by some all powerfull being.

i dont mean i dont beleive cause it is hard work i just dont see the way that you can beleive in something that you have no real proof exisists except for the bible and i dont even understand that... so i am just gonna go with it and see how it goes.....hopefully i will understand the bible soon so i can actually say that i understand what they are talking about and not pretend to pray..my life sucks

i say this, it has been proved that hundreds of years ago, scholars gathered at the city of constantine and discussed which manuscripts to put in the bible and which to leave out

The Constitution does indeed have religious references in it and our founding fathers were all religious men.

Actually, to clear something up, Thomas Jefferson wasn't a Christian. He was some sort of agnostic.
