someone gave me a virus on diablo

NO WHERE IN THIS POST DOES IT SAY I WANT TO SCAM PPL I GOT A VIRUS FROM SOMEONE ONLINE AND I WANT HELP GETTING IT OFF!

I HOPE THIS IS MORE CLEAR NOW BELOW IM TELLING YOU HOW I GOT THE SUPPOSABLE VIRUS

i dont know if it is possible but... i think it is possible i was playing open for fun killing every one blah blah and this paladin who suck trades me i show him my body equips not charms or anything i close the trade and all my charms are gone! and he pretty much denied that we traded and this sorcess said transfering now so i thought they had some kind of scam going then the sorc he says "loaded the viros" as in plural :mad: then he is like i gave them to xxxxtitanxxxx which was my character name but it was more like XXxxTitanxxXX but he said it with no capitals then he said when you leave you will be disconnected at that point i didnt think would want to stay longer in case more viruses where being xfered so i "saved and exited" and what do you know it instantly says "lost connection" now this could be a coincedence as i had been getting that message prior to this occasion but he said i was gonna get disconnected and so i ran mcaffee ad aware stinger and spybot s&d then i ran diablo and tryed to play i tried like 5 differant games with all i got disconnected in some way "your an expansion charcter" "failed to connect" i guess those where the ones i got most so uhm..... i searched for virus in search cause i could of sworn i saw a post which had some webpages which i thought i'd run and stuff but please give me suggestions please and thank you!

You cant get Viruses just by trading..

A Virus is something you get through Downloading a Foreign file.. You HAVE to Download something for a Virus to get onto your Computer, Same with Trojans.. Hacked Characters have trouble Joining games as well... Considering your Weapons do about 948K Damage...

It's not a Virus and It willl never be.. Unless your dumb enough to Download Pornography or something like that..

idk.... this is on Open im assuming... now no.. you cant get a virus by trading.... but some1 with good hacking skills could attack your computer after you join the game. (because they are serving the game... you would ahve the persons path and Ip, and an open port).. thats the 3 nessesities to hack into some1's box... but i doubt the guy would have publicly announced it... thats just not a hackers, style... he would enjoy being a dagger in the dark and love listening to you cry...... but idk it would take some good skills to do it... but when you're serving... just about anything is possible

U cant give viruses thru bnet, im not sure about open, but.. i mean i dont know nothing about nothing so i wouldnt know

well most of the time u dont click to download spyware and stuff it just downloads automaticly

i believe u cant get viruses off bnet but i was talkin bout hacking into some1s computer that is possible

Yer. I heard something like this on my clan forums except he traded some items he found himself and he traded them with this person and when they traded he looked at it and it look all glitchy so he closed d2 and tryed to look at it with he char editor but his whole char was gone. This was on open Btw

i think u can get a virus from trading cuz what this dude is sayin happened to me about a year ago or so when i was playin open...i got this one item then that totally screwed up my laptop and couldnt play nemore *or at least not for a while* so its possible that he did get a virus from that

maybe if u think a bout it the items u traded for came off some1s computer then the trade is a gateway linkin the 2 comps together *sorta* then after trade the items that were on his comp are now on urs
is it not possible to attach a virus or a trojan or somethin to the items?

btw blizzard warns about stuff like this and basically say use open at ur own risk
