But again, Silkweave has alot more +mana, but STreks have other great bonusus. I'd suggest you use one and keep the other in stash just in case you need it at some point.

as far as i can remember.. to decide which item to use for a shield i would count the better attributes
spirit:
55% fhr
35% fcr
+2 to all skills
around 100 to mana
22 to vitality
and +45 to 3 resistances

thats 6.

now lets look at lidless
+1 to all skills
20% fcr
and 10% increased mana

thats 3... 4 if you get a nice rune to place in it. spirit requires about 100 stat pts into str i think... but then again if you placed those pts into mana you would gain about 200 mana only anyway.. a nice spirit would give about 120 mana and 22 vitality, or 60+22=82 stat pts that you get back anyway. so you loose about 18 stat pts, or 36 mana. do you really need 36 more mana? im sure 2 small charms could help you with that.

If u have 1000 mana with out items.... then its 10% of 1000 which is 100 mana - ill figure it out what to do...

i play Europe non ladder, u cant get imps..... and coh sux for sorc, no fcr at all! and i did include perf. anni + torch so yes u loose 106 stats!

The breakpoint cast rates for a sorceress are 105% or 200% for the last breakpoint. Anything in between is useless, and you wont be hitting 200% with a lidless anyways, so you might want to rethink that statement.

Well the main thing is lidless = less power put more stat points to distribute (but this can be fixed by having charms on you)
and spirit = just all around better

Sprit pwnz lidless, if u think adding str is to much for using lidless in pvp. Stop being lazy and get 9 20 lifers along with the 9 gc's anni, torch. Life covoured from str gain. Gg
