9.20.05 - SYSTEM OF A DOWN SET TO RELEASE HYPNOTIZE NOVEMBER 22 ON CD AND DUALDISC Six months after System of a Down’s Mezmerize debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, the uncompromising and outspoken quartet returns with Hypnotize, part two of a promised two-album set. American Recordings/Columbia will release two versions of Hypnotize, the band’s fifth studio album, on November 22nd.

Both the CD and DualDisc versions feature 12 new songs as well as artwork by Vartan Malakian, father of SOAD’s guitarist/singer Daron. The packaging for Hypnotize is specially designed to physically join Mezmerize and Hypnotize together, forming one unified product with continuous artwork. Additionally, the DualDisc edition will contain exclusive behind-the-scenes footage showing the making of both records.

More importantly, the albums interlock musically. The final track on Hypnotize, “Soldier Side” completes “Soldier Side Intro,” which appears as the opening track on Mezmerize.

i am a huge system fan, mezmerize was one of the best albums i have heard for a while. btw did you guys know that the day it was released, it hit the top position in the charts for best album? and it stayed there for a number of weeks?
lets hope they can make another godlike album.

SoaD? You mean the guys that are too cracked out to do a decent show? The guys who were so cracked out once they played Suite Pee backwards and didn't realise it? Yeah I know them. They're actually from my area and from what I've heard they're pretty much idiots in person, they do so much coke it's almost impressive.

Personally I feel that their self-titled album was great and for a long time was one of my favorite albums, then Toxicity was decent and the rest in my opinion just blew. To call their album god like is just insulting the true gods of rock music.

Selling albums to the masses these days is easy. Look at Greenday they made a ton of money by just saying "Bush is stupid and America sucks," over and over in different ways. What should we learn from the Billboard charts? People are stupid and buy music because everyone else is. There are many albums that are 50 times more thought provoking and just over all better than Toxicity.
