It's an inconvenience to a majority of the population. You know the ones that didn't go to school. Also, a lot of things here are made for the english(?) system so changing it suddenly would **** up a lot of things. For example, recipes.

Oh hush you don't have to LIVE here! An Auzzie suggesting this....that you are right I will not argue.
It is not being aggressively taught in schools and should be.

Then the system can be turned over more easily in public places.

There are just too many people that can't divide by 10.

i think that if they were to slowly change to the metric system, it would be ok.
start with the speed signs. while providing MPH, include below it KmPH
that way, people would actually have a feel of how fast KmPH is.
as for the weights, they have already label things in both metric and british.

i certainly find much more trouble with the british. the conversions between ft, yds, miles, inches all require too much thought. like how many cups are there in a pint, ina gallon, etc etc

the metric system is useful but many people for some reason don't use the far superior method of measurement. oh well, whatever floats your boat i suppose.

I have a card that tells me which measurements are which. Because I was RAISED with the old system....my mind does not automatically convert.So yes I do not think metric.

Yes, lets just switch from a system we've been using for a very long time, and that everyone is happy with....and then pay so much money for new education books and programs. Unless you're planning on funding that project...I doubt it will happen any time soon.
