lol @ the hardly walk comment. i guess thats why those guys are only running 4.4 second 40 times and train for years from 6th or 7th grade until they stop. i played football for 7 years and its 100 times more intense than rugby will ever be. real mans sport my *** football players go full speed for 4 quarters and the pads are only there so we don't kill each other. once you've expirienced first hand american football on a college or professional level i will let you comment. until then stfu kthx

i agree with u totally deadly-guy except for 1 part. a 4.4 forty is pretty good, average NFL forty time for a back is 4.2. i think mike vick ran a 4.1 and he was the fastest time either him or warrick dun, but otherwise i totally agree with u

well yeah i know i was just giving an average. even the 300 lb linemen are runnin 4.4's these days. show me one rugby player that can hit a 4.2 with a full set of football pads on after practicing in 110 degree weather all summer.

lol, im pretty sure the fastest time for a 300lb lineman is high 4's, my neighbors brother is part of the St. Louis Rams. Left Tackle, 260lbs, he runs about a 4.7 forty. but ya anyways rugby sucks

i played against Keith Jackson's son in high school, Keith Jr. now plays for the arkansas Razorbacks and runs a 4.4 and he weighs 305 . on a side note i also played against matt jones (jacksonville jag's) he destroyed our team 45-0 in state playoffs. And the most highly recruited running back in the nation Peyton Hillis was on my high school team for 2 years and I helped him make many touchdowns (YOU OWE ME PEYTON LOL).

rugby doesnt suck, but it cant compare to american football. american football is the best sport in the world. come to an ohio state home football game and if you dont get goosebumps you must be dead.

oh yeah, and soccer sucks slimp. i'll respect people who play it because they have to be in great cardio-vascular shape, but it is the most boring sport in the world to watch, second to golf.

thats because rugby is played by a bunch of drunken irish/scotsmen. American football players are Taller/stronger/faster and devote their lives to working out and staying in shape so they can play 60 minutes of hard nosed in your face football. i've played football and i've watched both sports on TV and when it comes to drawing a crowd what is the Most watched sporting event in the world? The Super Bowl... even tho the super bowl has been pretty shitty past few years with all the damn commercials and advertising and shit that goes on. Football is still WAY more exciting to watch than rugby. Especially college football. those boys play hard for at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours and practice every day for at least 3 hours. most of them go to the gym after practice and work out more.

deadlly you just said something very stupid, first of all rugby players run for 90 minuties and at a furious pace, plus they train just as hard if not harder(for example there is not a man on the south african rugby team that does not atleast wiegh 115kg to 120kg minium ,with less than 5% body fat)

second of all american football is not the most watch sport and especially and not a chance is the super bowl the most watch sporting event, the world cup soccer is the most watched sporting evetnt(soccer has a support base of over 4 billion people) and then its formule 1 racing and rugby is a worldwide sport (i know because my country south africa is actually the number one country in the world) where as american football is for the most part played by americans

americans think very narrow mineded, like you have the world series of baseball i can assure you that the whole world is not watching, there are more people watching tennis than the world series of baseball

actually frog, most of the world does watch the world series and events like that. there are plenty of people from other countries competing in american pro sports. players from around the world often try to go from their country's national team to an american pro team. i forget what the statistic was exactly, but something like a million or so people in china alone watch the world series. that may not seem like a lot, but think about the economic level of most of china...probably not many more than that actually have tvs

your right, soccer is the most popular sport in the world. but probably will change soon. american football is starting to catch on in europe, and i believe that once people become exposed to playing it throughout the world, they will see just how incredibly boring soccer is compared to american football.
