Well actually soccer is the fastest growing sport in Asia, Africa's biggest sport is soccers and Europe its soccer and believe it or not Australia has a decent soccer team and quite a big fan base also doubt soccer will ever come down.

also i can agree to american football getting more support but i don't think it will overtake soccer

also the three biggest recent touraments recently 1.world cup 2.rugby world cup and the 3.cricket world cup

oh and the last thing i will say on this now, in 2004 super bowl ranked 4th most watched event, but there was no soccer,cricket,rugby worldcup in 2004 which all rank higher in viewership than super bowl

problem comes in is that if a rugby player hits u as hard as a football player your going to be knocked the hell out and rugby is the 3rd most dangerous sport in the world

and as I said, American Football is a pu ssy sport compaired to Rugby.

Rugby owns these american football players must take off those pads and they will catch suck a hiding, rugby players are fitter, tougher, rougher and its most of them do have lasting carears by the way.

I was the best receiver all durring highschool, and I played rugby too. And rugby's the only one that gave me a beating

receivers dont get hit very much, so that helps explain your narrowmindedness about football. every once in a while they will take a pretty good hit, but you have to play on the line, or runningback, or defense to really feel what its like to hit and be hit

just to point out rugby has those positions as well(backline), they don't often dont get hit, but when they do it hurts and i assume blind played a backline position

what i think is funny about this thread is that for the most part the people for football agree that both rugby and football are very physical sports and the people for rugby keep calling football players pussies and stuff. and then its the rugby people that say the football people are neanderthals and are closed minded etc.

I have to go with football on this one. As for soccer being the most popular sport in the world i have to agree with u frogman. But to me, pro football is so much better to watch. I've watched soccer before and it got sorta boring. Football playhers hhave to wear pads becuase if they dont they wouldn't be coming back. Loook at all the football players who get injured all the time and are put on injured reserve list for the year. If the didnt wear pads so many players would get hurt. And as to the players fitness, i dont really know much about rugby players fitness so i cant really comment but i kno football players are really fit. And i've played football and it's a tough sport if your on offensive/defensive line, running back/ fallback(w/e), or db's. lol some guys get nailed in football and it's not easy thats all i' saying...
