Okay, I was trying to trade away a pair of Treks I found and this guy came into my game. He told me to go to A2 and go next to the palace while he stayed inside it. He told me that he wanted to drop trade because he had just lost a HR due to trade hack. He dropped the items that he told me he would, and he told me to drop my Treks. I refused to do it, and eventually I told him to leave. He then replied why don't I make you leave? And then I got a D2 error and I was booted out of the game. I then tryed joining the game I was previously in and I got the same error. Now I know he wanted me to drop my items so he could give me the error and kick me out and then he could get my items, but I was just wondering how he did this? Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? All I know is that they have to be using a program or something to exploit a bug in D2 that does something to a certain game and causes an error.
Thanks for everything
Sry for double post but I didn't know where to post this.

Uh, you coulda just said no.. I didn't know that scamming was that bad. If somone's stupid enough to do it they really shouldn't have their stuff.

I remember pulling the palace scam on a few people. Required precision timing, but we pulled it off 90% of the time (me and a friend) although he lost an anni twice =P
Needless to say, drop trades are scams.

Torch for torch is probably an even bigger scam, since you can just say Sorc torch 4 pally torch and really just have a 10/10 zon torch.

very true. There's no way of telling which torch it is unless u can put it in trade screen. But you can't do that of course

From what I have read, the hack that drops people from game only works in act 2. If you just have to do a drop trade, just don't do it in act 2. But there are still several ways to get scammed.
