Battle.net is Violating User Rights Petition!!
#41
I'm signing....i agree that b.net has TOTALLY invaded our privacy with their new warden program. It can potentially collect personal information such as usernames, id #'s and passwords and COULD leak them out onto the internet....although b.net would probably NEVER use this program to collect our personal information, it is still a risk, and i for one am NOT for this.....something needs to be done, b.net and blizzard needs to be exposed for this.

What an utter waste of time.
You hack. You get banned.
Warden only looks at files in your diablo 2 directory, so whats the fuss.(as far as i know) And if it doesn't, i see nothign wrong with the fact the want to protect the game and economy.
Lets say you made a a game and soemone hacked the shit out of it after you spent time money and effort on it, Would you be pleased?

I know Blizz has no plans to use any personal information they may find on your computers, there are laws against that. However people break laws all the time; have you heard about personal information being stolen from companies? I recently got a letter from my bank with an apoligy and a new check card because somehow (it wasn't explained in the letter) all my personal checking data was made public! I don't expect the company to do anything wrong but there are individual that might.

I only have one computer I use, I have D2 on it, I have my bookkeeping software on it and I have almost all my personal information on it. If I don't trust Blizz I will either have to buy a new computer to game or remove D2.

I never thought that blizzard would develop a spy program. That's pretty weak if you ask me. Why would they do that, ide say 2/3 of the people that play use MH and the people that don't have MH want it and can't find it. You can't just snoop through peoples data like that. If somone was snooping through the F.B.I or C.I.A. files agents would be knocking at their door. I think that laws are on the way to better the internet and stop spying and invasions of peoples privacy. It may not be here for a while but it may start with this petition, who knows? I'm in!

Using mh is like snooping around.
The difference is the end result.

It's not quite as simple as that. We are in the 21st century after all. Metal cabinets with locks are now things of the past. People are used to storing their personal data on computers, for example, look at companies. Computers are an efficient way of storing vast amounts of information, which can later be deleted, edited or added. People take such things for granted now.
