life in outer space
#1
yeah so i was watchin the movie contact, and i saw the part with the ill wormhole scenes, well anyways, you guys think that theres more civilizations in our solar system, rather than our entire universe, or you think that god only created the life on earth, etc etc. waht you guys think of space and life and other galaxies

Well you can never rule out the fact that there could be life somewhere else. Another Universe etc. Although We can not make a space shuttle with enough fuel capacity to get that far. I have never been in space but I am sure it would be a awsome experience.

Being an Atheist I take offense to that comment. :p

Anything could be out there, only time will tell.

why dont they make a rocket that runs on solar power? i mean ya... theres stars, and stuff to power it out there...

thats a good question.. but I think that would make it too heavy. They already have weight issues with them as it is. But if they loose some weight from holding fuel they could have extra weight for solar. I know we have satalites up there that can go some distance. But until we can do the technolgy like startrek and stuff i am not sure how soon we will find life on other planets.

solar power is barely enough to get a satellite to jupiter. considering how the nearest star, proxima centauri, is 4.3 lightyears away, the total amount of solar power received would be like an ant trying to blow a sailboat across an ocean

but i totally believe that life exists in the universe other than on earth.

Yeah your right mech. They will figure out away soon. Aren't they designing a ship/plane that can take a group of people into space for the day? I thought i heard if on the new's before. they have to come up with a fuel that burns longer if anything. Or maybe do like the new cars be half gas/ half electric that might be a option if you could get it to work.

But I know I heard they would be able to take people into space.. like tours in space lol. That would probley cost a fortune just to up there for aday or a few hours

Can't they make them nucular powered? That would give like over 1000 years of fuel.

probably but nuclear power is controversial because of how unwieldy it is. there's risk of meltdowns not to mention radiation poisoning and that's just to people who work at nuclear power plants. having to sit inside a nuclear powered ship for months and possible years would be pretty hazardous. it would be even worse if the trip was so long that people were expected to procreate and create a new colony when they finally find a planet to inhabit. race of mutants eh?
also, i think that nuclear power is pretty powerful but the amount of material such as uranium and plutonium required as fuel would weigh down the ship too much considering their mass

Well after reading the first post, i had to go throw up, contact is terrible movie. But you have to consider this, to get far in space a worm whole must be created, but to do that, it is believed you must go over the speed of light, and the only thing closest to that humans got is a satelit that goes around 400 m/ps (i think). It is believed that once this wormhole is created it can "bend" space. Think of it like this, you have a sheet of paper, you start at point A at one side, you need to get to other side of paper, point B. Lets say it would take you millions of years to get there while traveling in space, but in a wormhole, it would be like bending the peice of paper so that the 2 sides are directly next to each other, making travel time hours.

Sure, i guess it MIGHT be a little complicated...confused(

This is my theroy, scientist always say that there's an infinate amount of planets in out universe. (planets or stars) so something like earth will have to repeat eventually right? So than everything on earth could be exactly the same on a different plante except for one tiny change, like me having green eyes instead of blue. Thus it will have to repeat untill everything is changed. That is what I think.

First of all rockets dont use fuel once their in space because there is nothing to stop them from moving. And the reason we can not make it anywhere is because its way too far... About 100 million years away...

life does exist in our universe i only hope that its within 1-30 light years from us.. and if an alien has starship tech and like scanned our system can we detect ships doing that?

the system 40 erindia A has life... its 16 light years from here

what ur discrabing is the alternate universe and yes there is infinite planets and stars
but u do not want to make first contact with our conter parts..like we are nice, they are evil so i dont think ur theory is right 4 ur sake lol

i believe there is definitely life somewhere other than earth...intelligent life might be a different story...in fact if i remember correctly, there was signs of spider-like life on mars discovered not too long ago. i dont remember where or when i heard that though, so it could be false

i was watchin somethin on UFO Files , on the history channel, adn it said that when u go faster than the speed of light, (Wormhole speed), it said that the mass of that object moving, gets infinitly bigger and bigger in mass, and that it can bend the matter in space or some shit like that

ofcourse theres more life outside earth and no god exists only to create it only on earth.

And trendkill, you dont need fuel once your in outer space because inertia keeps you in motion in outer space. What comes in moion stays in motion, and theres no friction in outer space so it will keep going until stopped.

actually you do1. you need to orient your ship to compensate for gravity from other stars if you intend to go straight towards it2. you may need it to make navigational turns to avoid said star and planet gravitation if you dont intend on a straight path3. you need it to aim at your intended planet which is currently revolving around its own star4. cosmic dust from such areas as the asteroid belt and oort cloud will slow you down so you need fuel to get back up to speedideally, you wouldnt need fuel but if you look at the details, it's kinda vitalabout the black hole thing, has anybody heard about that theory that a mass in space presses on the fabric of space like a rock on a sponge? theoretically, an infinitely large mass in an infinitely small space will press so hard and deep into that fabric that it creates a wormhole. dont remember much from the book i read about it but there you go

the mass does increse when u go faster but a show called star trek has ships going thousands time faster than light and u can go to a star system but.. u will ned fuel, food, water and air and living quarters and a companion if u know what i meanWink

might want to include wepons and armors lol not many aleins are nice
mabye...u need an earth level starship (the starship of today not 100 years from now)
