In your guys's opinion, what is best sorc. build for say, rushing and mfing? or is such a combination impossible? Cause i would like to be able to handle most everything in hell mode, contribute on hell baal runs, maybe hell rush my friends, while being able to hit up some boss runs on my own for some good ol' MFing. sorry if this is a noob question, just starting back up in D2

Well, personally I like Lightning Sorc if merc has Infinity.  You should try it

Hm, i might be able to get ahold of one, but if I am not, is there a cheaper alternative? Or maybe one that doesnt require infinity?

Light sorc would be best for Botting/rushing/key hunt etc.. but if you cna't relaly get a hand on the infinity then try Blizz sorc. i wouldn't relaly recommend fire sorc because there tends to be too much fire immunes

alright, ill try light. out then, thanks I still want some more opinions. I was looking at fireball/meteor + some Orb for the immunes to fire, but I wondered if it would still be effective going hybrid? More input would be great.
Additional Comment:
oh, and can light. sorc's only do like, the little unique monsters? like eldritch, pindle etc.. or can it handle super bosses, (diablo, meph, andy) on hell mode as well?

Lightning sorces absolutely own.. 50k+ dmg.. They are the fastest rushers and mfers imo.. And yes.. Lightning sorces can kill meph andy diablo in about 3 hits...

alright, reason i asked was cause some guy was running off about how lightning is good for the little guys, but can't handle the big bosses... so i guess he was wrong.. Leveling a lightning sorc as I speak, thanks.

Yeah light sorc can do Uniq monsters + boss
anyways going Hybrid won't be much effective because you're splitting your main damage therefore i wouldn't suggest it

I had two builds that i'd use to rush people in hell and mf.
One was a Orber/Enchanter. Had around 600, 700 orb and enchant boosted my merc's damage by 2.5k. Affective.
Another would be a Boltress/Firewall that proved to be very usefull as well with a merc with infinity.

The once infamous Orb/Ts build has nearly come to an extinct, it was the shit in 1.10, I wonder what happened.

FO/ES sorc with a strong merc. I used to do efficient full rushes with her. Oblivion knights are a bit trickier, but not too bad. Aside from a few runs at Nihlathak, I don't think I ever died. Definitely try that if you want insane endurance and crowd control.

A fire with orb sorc is called a meteorb. I have one lv89, they are not bad. See this guide.
There are few light immunes though, you can make a good pvm lightning if you have infinity.

cold sorcs are usually the cheapest sorcs because there are less cold immunes. its pretty hard to play with light sorc without infinity, but once u get one, anything will go down in less than 10 hits
i run hell baal runs by myself with my light sorc, baal is no problem (if i don't have infinity, i would not be able to do baal)

I have a light sorc and my max damage is only 12k and i'm lvl 88 withlike 7 levels to go till i've maxed all synergies, how do you get it higher?

Orb with all extras in ES. You can't do shenk/eldritch, but Andy/Meph/Pindle are easy.

my orb can easily do shenk and eld, i maxed orb ice bolt cold mastery nova and 10 into es 10 into warmth and she can do eld and shenk ezpk also shes doing about 1.2-1.3k orb

i havent played since 1.03 but light and fire..can't mess with those, light does amazing damage

but a light sorc is expensive to get built to the point where they actually are good
