290's
#1
Now i'm usually in a good mood and happy and such, but when i keep on seeing all this craze about 290's, it really pisses me off. i dont see what is so special about a 290, and i hate how it is becoming the new currency in the channels. thats all ppl care about anymore. they offer multiple elite items that would seem dam good for some ppl for 1 stinkin' little charm that does 290 psn damage. i hope that anyone who owns 290(s) get these stupid little pieces of $hit removed from the game immediately. they ruin the natural fun of the game, and the true essence that is diablo 2.....

i actually agree...they may be a great charm to hold onto but in the end everyone is gonna have them and its gonna be impossible to play a pvp character without 6k poison resistance( not seriously...theres no such thing) either way......BACK TO THE GAMES!!!!!!

Yeah, I recently tried to get a vex rune, JESUS! First i offered full mavs, a friend said i couldnt get it for that, so i offered a 243 ed clean gf, and all any1 wants anymore is freakin 290's... its rediculous! that makes it extremely hard for people that dont use freakin ebay, to trade for anything of value! Pisses me off...

The ironic thing is that 290's have been mass duped so many times it isn't even funny anymore.

I know for a fact that this is the work of people that are duping them and using the inflated vaule to make money on ebay. They are goig sometimes for more than runes. I don't buy from ebay myself but check every once in a while to watch what is happening. 290's right now in channels = 1-1 for runes and in some cases more  that is just ridiculous...

Play ladder, you don't have to worry about them. I heard at the time they were flooded into B.Net that it was the work of a group of outsiders and one guy on the inside. For the ammount that were created it would make sence that it was done 'en-masse' raher than using our ****ed dupe methods.

I'd really like Blizzzard to come up with a mass 290 deletion. It will just be like when 1.10 came out and everyone lost their hexes. I know of some people who had just bought 40 or more hexes, the next day they were all gone. Maybe this can happen with the 290's, after all, its not that hard to delete them from the game and make them an illegal factor.

If it isn't 290's it'd be 40/15's or SoJ's again. If it was so easy they'd of done it by now. The problem with Blizzard is simply that their far to easy on the people that dupe large scale. They know who they are, but don't want to incur massive legal fees in trying to tackle them through the courts. It is technically illegal because it goes against your TOU, but if they start on the dupers, then they move on to the eBayers, then the MH users, and eventually where will it stop. All the extreme players are violating their TOU anyway by using to much server time.

The people who play the game are the problem, not Blizzard themselves.

This should be made a famous quote:

"For every 1 new person per mmorpg, there will be 10 assholes for the same game."

Now we need a famous person to say it...

A wiser word has never been said. But we should take comfort in the fact that it's not just the Diablo community. Although that being said, I have never known such an elitist game as Diablo. Ultima Online, at least the people are for the most part, pleasent. I've been playing for years now, and I still don't get the mentality of the average Diablo gamer. Plus I can't count the number of times I've been called "noob" by some **** who thinks it's a cool phrase to use.

Heh, I've been playing d2 since about last July of 2003. I cought on pretty quick and today I know the game extremely well. Yet those PK'ers seem to think that anyone who outsmarts them or beats them is a noob. Just gotta live with it and make a new game.

Or if your smart enough, develop a player drop hack + account ban or steal. But I don't think anyone here is smart enough to do that.

It would take something as sinister as that to change the way a lot of people think. However, the chances are minutes after this imaginary hack is released everyone would have banned everyone else from B.Net...

... Tis the way of the world, give someone power and they will abuse it.

I know of someone who said that he made one of these. He used a similar program back in the days of d2 (like around 1.05 or 1.07) because he was a chat room moderator for blizz. Maybe he took the program and made it himself. He showed it to me on open b.net. Had his lil bro on one of his accounts then *poof*; gone in an instant. Plus all his items popped out. Then im guessing the pw was sent to him by some unknown force. He was close to giving it to me, if i promised to never distribute it. (He could tear apart my comp in minutes). But he went away somewhere, and doesnt get on much.

I wish blizz would do something knew with d2, it's gotten boring now that all my friends quit the game. If i knew some other pplz that played it, i would be on right now.

OFF TOPIC: Id like to continue this conversation another time: gotta go get my butt owned in 2 baseball games today! =D what joy...

i have a MF zon and i currently traded my 290's for MF charms. i do hell D, pit, and shenk. since i have traded them i havent noticed any difference at all in my killing. so if you mf alot dont ever worry about getting 290's, if you guys dont use 290's then try the battle.net trading forums, alot of people trade for p. gems, sojs, and runes.

p.gems and soj's are worthless in my opinion.

I use sojs... But pgems? Iunno why the hell ppl offer them for stuff... it seems pointless...

i for sure dont think 290's should be mass deleted as ppl hav traded high value items for these as this is all that ppl want , its just adapting to gameplay

I think if an item is to be used as currency, it should be something easier to come by, such as p.gems... I agree they are useless, but currency should be.

290's are way over powered to be thrown around in huge numbers.

i guess there are certain pgems that would be worth more than others. for example, some people arent as lucky to find ist's and such, so they substitute in p topaz's and use them for mf. some people, although blizz i believe nerfed both leeches, want to achieve greater dual leech, so they put in p skulls (also i guess some spellcasters want mana regen). perhaps lower level char (or i guess poisonmancers) would want to peraps socket some of their weaps with p emeralds so they can get that psn dmg. so i think overall more often than not with most of the gems they are for ppl who have started out new char and once they reach clvl 18 they can use gemmed items until they can find better stuff. i guess this makes the topaz the most valuable gem since even higher lev chars may still use them for the mf in a shako or something like that.
