Can't paste with firefox

i never had this problem before but i do now. i can copy stuff but i can't paste it with firefox. i have to use ie when i make a post that requires pasting.

Until FireFox releases a fix, renaming your Firefox exe file will fix this. Go to your Firefox folder (default C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) and rename the firefox.exe to anythinghere.exe.

If you have desktop\start menu shortcuts, you will need to fix them by right clicking choosing Properties and fixing the 'Target" box.

That fix it up for you? It is a problem with the new update, only some people experiance it. All of them I have talked to have told me renaming the exe fixes the problem.

ok i'll try that. the wierd thing is on another forum site i can paste but on this one i can't. its the same set-up too(vbulletin)

Yes, the problem only effects some sites. I have heard of people having problems with hotmail\gmail... tell me if the rename helped.

I was able to paste the link in insert picture but still cound't paste here lol. what here do i have to change the "Mozilla Firefox" or "firefox"

Go to Start > Run. Type in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and press Ok.

Find the Firefox.exe file in the folder. Right click on it and select Rename. Give it any name you wish to give it.

Go back to the shortcut properties window. In the target box (it will say "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"), change the Firefox.exe to match what you renamed the file in the folder to.

Example

If you renamed the firefox.exe to NotFirefox.exe, you would make the target box of the shortcuts properties look like this

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\notfirefox.exe"

You should click and drag one of those shorcuts over (some of them are overlapping)

nope doesn't work. i renamed the firefox folder in C:\Programs\mozilla firefox aand the properties and it doesn't work still. also, when i start the blicking line(where your text is shown to come out) doesn't start in blicking in the box when i'm in the post quick reply. this just started around the time copy/paste problem appeared. might be stupid thing but idk. i'll just use ie for when i have to do that kind of stuff.

You do not rename the firefox folder. You rename the Firefox.exe and fix the shortcut so it still opens the correct file. I don't know how I can be any more clear, sorry.

sry if i wasn't clear. i think i renamed right thing, here's what i renamedere's what i renamed:

And it still does not work? With everyone I have talked to, after doing this it fixed the problem.

Try a full uninstall of FireFox and a re-install. You will loose all themes and extensions, so be sure to write down the ones you have so you may re-downlaod them.

I only have 2 extensions so thats nothing to worry about. ok thannks wm i'll let you know how it turns out
