I've had a trojan on my pc for a few weeks now. The only scans that i have are Xoftspy, Ad-aware Se pro, and Spybot. But none of them get rid of it, But Ad-aware an Xoftspy detect it. If anyone can send me in the right direction to some good FREE scaners, that would be great.

Symnantec does wonder's for me, and you could always google what problems your having with your computer, that could be connected to having a trojan or other malicious application. Usually one of those PC Tech website's pop up with searches.
And by the way...Idk if Symnantec is free...(Came installed on my computer)...But TrendMicro.com is a good online scanner.

I'm assuming that you use windows. If not then ignore the rest of this I guess.
First off, boot into safe mode. You do this by hitting F8 before your computer boots up. At the new menu, choose the option, safe mode with networking, then log onto an account with administrative privileges. Go online and either use an online scanner or download a free one. If the virus isn't too nasty then this should get you some results. Really nasty virus's can sometimes lead to windows reinstalls. One more thing, if you know the name of the virus, put it into a search engine and try to find a removal tool. l8er
btw- AVG has a free virus scanner. Good luck

There is one problem with that Shane, you can't get online 99% of the time if you boot into safe mode = P
Get me the viruses name and I can give you a removal tool specifically for it...

Sure you can if you boot up into safe mode with networking unless the virus has somehow disabled your computer from going online. If you need to reload, I saw an article that explained how to reinstall windows without losing a thing. I don't know how computer savvy you are but the info is out there. Good luck

You could always upload your most important files onto the web and then reboot your computer and then pulls them back down...That way..You don't really lose much..
