If you plan on using it for gaming, no, but if it's for school/bullshit then yes. But it couldn't hurt to get an upgrade to 1 gig of RAM. Of course, that is if it's an option.

A RAM upgrade from 512 to 1 gig should only be about 50 bucks at the most, but if you can't do it, then don't. Yeah, it's not bad for being 600 Canadian. That's like what, 525 American?

I gotta type this out again? I guess so...

I wouldn't upgrade to Vista for about 6 months to a year after it comes out. They have rewritten stuff like the network stack that has been bug tested since Windows 95 and up for christ sake. They have problems in the betas they have not had since Windows 95\98...

I know they are still in beta version but they are being preasured to meet the release date and are down to maybe a month of coding before it has to be packaged up and started to ship.

It will be the most insecure operating system ever by them, dispite their claim of it being the most secure.

vista is only the most secure on codecs. security wise its about good as good as thier updates. (if you dont understand updates=purely crap). besides, their requirements arent worth it and from the talk of thier "special requirements" for programs, it makes it less worth it.

Its okay. It can probably play BattleField 2 on low quality. What games do you play? You should really build one.

Wow, I didn't think they could make a more insecure OS than XP SP1.

Anywase, I would hold off on that computer, look for another one.

Its mainly because it doesnt say if it has a pciexpress slot. Even then wasting another $100 wouldnt be good.
