Ok, so I get online to work on my lvl 70 Hammerdin, and I get the 'Account Has Been Closed (8)' box. I make a new account, and it tells me my Cd-Key has been banned. Dang. But the weird thing is, the only program I have ever used was Sting's HackMap 2.24. I only used Reveal Act, never anything else. So maybe this confirms that Sting's is unsafe?
Kinda sucks, since I just bought 20 hr's and no Cd-Key, so I guess it was a waste of money :p

thanks for postin dude, i know everyone thought that stings was undetectable so its good to get the word out. i never trusted it even though everyone claimed it was safe so now im glad i didntsmartass2

It's safe.
If it were detectable you'd see thiis whole forum being spammed with i got banned, along with all the other d2 forums.

Actually no, I never have turned on plugin, "for just a sec to see something." What am I going to see? I used to use Mousepad's Maphack back in the day, and I know the powers of MapHacks. I also know they get you banned, which i why I never use the plugin.
Hey, if you don't want to believe that all I used was Sting's, no plugin, and got banned, oh well. Just trying to state what happened to me.

Its nothing big. Plug-in makes the hack inject itself into d2, therefore making it detectable w/o anti-detection, reveal act injects, gets the map, and then ejects.

It (plugin) adds a button to reveal another persons equipment and inventory when you are highlighting them, shows MF %, shows monster and chest locations, and does a lot of different stuff. But it will get you banned.
As for this banned when not using plugin, this does seem odd. I have never had a problem personally and in 90% of cases it was found to be user error or a freak detection by Blizzard. Stings isn't perfect, it may have mis-executed some code or have done something to tip off you were using it.
I really don't see any other possibillites. If it was bannable there would be a massive banning and 40 threads of people complaining right on the day it happened.

i use without plugin.... like the others said, you must have done something wrong or every1 would be spamming everywhere

I was using plug.in for about 6 months i diddnt get banned than i heard of peopel starting to get banned than i thote f.that yeah ne way's w/e plug in its ssafe.....for the moment

my friend got banned using stings last week... however, he turned the plug-in on once, just once.. got banned a few days later.. I'm still using stings though, being careful not to press the plug-in button

i was wondering, (using stings just to reveal map, no plug ins) does executing stings then closing exe makes difference to executing stings and leaving it running? or closing it right after revealing the needed map safer?

As far as I know it does not make a difference. I suggest leaving it open.

uhm, it exits immediatly when revealing map ~ but.. not the process name of which thats.. how it can also be banned?
