Try AVG antivirus, it's free.

try to google the name of the virus or whatever it is, theres a good chance some website will show u steps on removing it.
DO NOT download ANY anti-spyware or antivirus from any site that claims that "this antivirus will remove it"
ask around before downloading any antivirus or spyware remover
nowadays its become the general tendency for loser programmers to put spyware and viruses in their own AVs,

I'm assuiming you have windows xp and some sort of virus scanner, update the definitions and reboot your pc. Push F8 while your computer is booting up. Choose safe mode with networking and log in to an account with admin privledges. Start your virus scanner and scan your entire system. If by chance your virus scanner can't remove it, then search for a specific removal tool for "cmdlinecm" and follow the directions. To avoid any confusion just go to symantec's website and search for that trojan. Good luck

avast antyvirus is good to. if u even pull up a download page it will give u info and terminate the program before u get dmg. its a super good system and i dont know how i got it.

again avast antivirus for internet downloads ingoing outgoing mail ur other antiviruses for currup[tion or something going with the ther antivirus on ur comp. might send u viruses and avast watches the actions and removes all bad.

this sounds like a pritty bad spyware or trogen (keylogger) something got downloaded wen u probly entered a bad site. it might be real bad idk, but spybot would prob also be a good thing to download to get ride of it. if that dont work than i think u might have to delete it manually-(meaning using a computer language find it and delete it.)

might even be defender itself. its fios units run on cmds, it could of glitched on a startup and wrote it by accident or even got it from a random ad from a site. the site itself can be clean but on occasion a commercial ad may be infected. but from what you explained it sounds like an infostealer trojan. try a free scan from trend micro. also, you may want to think about getting some kind of all in one tools kit such as xp tools so when you're done scanning for it, you can remove its backups that could be sitting in the registry.

The only decent post here = )

Yeah, try online scans with TrendMicro (I think their free online scan is nicknamed HouseCall) and Kaspersky AntiVirus (another very good online virus scan).

Rather then downloading and installing a whole new AV to fix the problem, try the online methods first.

Best of luck to you, if that fails you can send me a HiJackThis log or make a post with one on GeeksToGo (Used to go to that forum, they know what they are doing)
