I'm almost stuck in my decistion. It's between the barb and the sorc. Sorc = mfing, pvp, pvg, mana advatage, the abilty to scroll lock. Barb = Big hit taker/human shield, pvp, pvg, health advantage, war crys, and well it's just fun to hack and slash lol. Ide have to say though sorc's are more important so that's were my vote goes.

I voted necromancer because I didn't see all round. Definitley Pally, there should be no argument over this, other than maybe sorc. Hammerdin can rush hell, duel with smiters, fohers, zealers, and hammerdins, and mf pretty decently. Sorceresses are probably better for mfing pindle (becasue the hammers hit the wall) but they can't really rush hell unless they have a godly merc. And of course, sorceresses can duel just as well or maybe better.

sorc of course they rock in pvp, and pvm they dont need nigma they have low life however but still own SORCES

There has allready been a thread about this, the "what do you think" thread..
And still, no char could beat every char so there is no overall best char..
PvM is for hammerdins tho, other than that dueling is open for every char.
And Trapsins don't own, I could beat them easy with my barb.
And forgotten whats so good about a sorc not needing an enigma? its easy to get and still your going to want a good coh, which is about the same.

Paladin, they own in melee, elemental (foh/auras) and hammers.
But without the enigma, sorc would still be best in my opinon

PvM would have to be a summoning Necro. You do physical, poison, fire, electric, and ice. For PvP hammerdin hands down.

I voted Necromancer, because I finished Hell mode by myself with a summoning necro, and it wasn't hard at all. Although summoning necs suck in PvP, so if it were pvp I would choose fire-druid, but only because that's what I have experience with.

I Would go for Necro for all around character mostly in pvm but hes one of the best in pvp to.Its the easyest to build, the easyest to play and its the only one that can do hell alone without even sweating. Cheap equipement, bone armor rullz, it's got all the ingredients to be perfect

I'd say Paladins are the most versatile chars because they pretty much have a build for everything. Hammerdin/Zealer for PvM, Charger/Smiter/FOHer for PvP and with the Dream and Dragon runewords, they can get insane elemental damage on their zeal. IMO, they definitely are the best overall.
No other char can go through hell easily? I don't think so... Dual-element sorcs solve this problem, even if they are weaker than their single-element counterparts.
Necros have plenty of skills to hold enemies in place (skeletons, bone wall/prison) and they have many curses to create a large group of enemies to destroy with ease using corpse explosion.
Cold ele druids are great too because they have a mixture of cold and physical, meaning that enemies who are totally immune to their attacks are rare.
Trappers have a combination of light (Lightning Sentry) and fire (Fire Blast i think) to kill most immunes too.
With decent equipment, Bowazons can destroy anything in Norm/Nightmare/Hell but without decent equipment, they have a small chance unless used properly (Decoy+Valk to lure enemies and dispatch them from a distance).
IMO, barbs have a tough time going through hell (for me anyway because they are my worst char) and for me to solo hell with them, I need BOTD, Enigma, 10 WC skillers etc. Might just be because I have no skill with barbs at all.
Can't be arsed going through a long explanation for PvP but sorcs can destroy Foh/Hammer/Charge/Smite paladins from a distance as long as they don't leave an opening for the Paladin. Necros can do the same as long as they don't get within a Paladin's range, as well as amazons and trappers. Druids can easily be killed by Paladins though because you need to get close to them to hit with Hurricane/Tornado or with bear/wolf skills and most Paladin builds destroy barbs.

Paladins are really the most powerfull and have a lot of deffence. Hammerdin dont give a shit about monster resist and strike down everything, but without enigma is not good for rushing other char. Thats way if u dont have enought runes to buy or to create Enigma better use sorc for that, but for everything else u know my oppinion
