Problems with Torrents... again
#1
Using bitcomet i downloaded Diablo 2 torrents, and using Alcohol 120% i started downloading Diablo 2 into playable format. I've tried loading with all the different parts of installation sizes, from single player, multiplayer and full install and it keeps coming up with the "need disk in drive error" because it can't read certain part of disk.

Using: Alcohol 120%- Mount Image
Bitcomet- Torrent Loader

Problem: "setup can not read a required data file. Your diablo II cd may not be in CDROM"

Missing file" D2data.mpq

So what i'm really asking is: Isn't using the torrents suppose to mean that i don't need a disk?

help wanted

the torrent was missing d2data.mpq i think you'd have to find it download it and put it in the proper place.

I find torrents are often unreliable, but i use them anyway. only about 1/8 of the torrents i try to use are inactive, but once in a while i find something nice. have you tried torrentreactor.com, i got afew off there .

Try power iso and mount it to that. To me I think its much more versatile and supports more file extentions.

Oh and when you play make sure the iso is in your virtual drive

I tried power iso, it works good, but it still didn't load. A file has been misplaced and is in wrong torrent, is there a certain way to replace this file to other torrent?? like copy paste type thing...

I see alot of problems with this. I myself use alcohol 120% cause I trust it and cause the elby company joined forces with them so they can cover protection better now.

Iso Problem

You have this error because the images you have arent complete. Whoever did them forgot to add security write protection which covers the files that are necessary.

As for the problem with the cd not being in the cd rom, you can either add 'Ignore Media Type' and 'RMPS (Recordable Media Physical Signature) Emulation' in the Emulation options window.
You may want to try activating 'BAD Sectors Emulation' and Sub-Channel Data Fixed and Emulation' in the Extra Emulation options.

there are 2 things you can do to make it think its in the drive.
1. Get Clonecd and activate 'Hide CDR media'
or..
2. Go to run and type 'regedit' without the quotes and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II
from there you will see a REG_SZ labeled 'DiabloIICD'. change the letter to the image drive.

Example: if DiabloIICD is set to your D: drive, and your image drive is F: change it to F:

and that should make it work.

BTW. this regedit trick WILL WORK FOR GAMES THAT ASK FOR THEIR CD *coughff8cough*

during its check it cant find a part of the d2data.mpq file. whoever did the image didnt realize that its protected by safedisk and secuROM. you may want to have a friend make one for you and have them turn it into a torrent.
