i think he only has basic pci, not pci-e
i didnt know geforce 5's came in standard pci, that's an ok video card i guess, can run most things, dont expect max graphics from newer games though

yea. some of the geforce 6's also do. raedons x series does as well if his computer is old the one he chose should be fine. if its for more than just game use, i'd suggest probably an x1300 from ati for gaming and video. riva tuner 16.2 is one of the third party software that works best with it as well.

if you replace the motherboard, you'll probably have to buy new ram again. you'd be better off buying a bare bone kit, it'll save you money.
