I think what you don't understand, is it was not with me, the knife was in my car 300 YARDS away from the school off the property, so they had no legal right to suspend me

Only way to get that turned around would be give it to the papers. If what you did was perfectly legal the papers may spread a bad press for the school and they may overturn it.

My friend got a one day suspension for saying the word, "****" during school. Not at anyone or about anyone, but a teacher heard it and gave him a suspension for it. I thought that was kinda BS, although understandable. I told a teacher to, "Shut the **** up!" once and never got in trouble for it.

You have to think about it this way, the administration doesn't want a stabbing, because parents won't want their children to go to that school, therefore they lose government funding, plus it just looks bad.


But, for being that far off school, and "maybe" having a knife, they overreacted. They should've simply left it at "don't bring one in, and if we find out you even may have one, there will be concequences." However, flaunting around school that you have a knife, to someone you don't trust 100% may not be the smartest idea.

also, i believe weapons must be 1000 yards away from schools. Regardless its retarded for you to get suspended. at my school whenever i had a knife i just told my principal and she always said just dont get it out lol. Not to mention all the times i went to Skeet/Clay shoot competitions and they let us keep our shotguns in our cars in the parking lot lol.

You never said they searched your car, what you said was, they suspected that you had a knife because somebody told them you had one, that's reasonable suspicion and schools are able to use this as a faux warrant to inspect your car. Besides when you are at school you surrender some of your rights in order to attend, that's how it's been known to be.
