Explanation of duping now

I am trying to get a better understanding of what has been going on with D2 of late in regards to dupes. I am somewhat out of touch since last playing back in 2001/2 when it seems duping was much different, easier, faster, and no fear of the items eventually disapearing. I see now that Blizzard has become a little more active, yet duping is still possible.

I hear a lot of people saying that there is no public dupe method. I am assuming they are referring to the Necro bone prison. I just picked up D2 again last winter and was surprised at the changes. Now right before ladder reset this summer there was extremely horrible lag. I see people refer to this as a result of a dupe method that I thought was supposed to have been patched last February.

Am I also correct to assume that there is still a method of duping, that only a select few are aware of? If so I am surprised this has not leaked then. One thing that has changed is I see all these sites selling items, it sure did not take them long to get high runes filled up after reset. I again assume that they are the ones who have this private duping method?

Lastly, my memory is not as good as it used to be. Does anyone remember the name of the program that was used back in 2002 to do some mass duping? From what I remember the exploit was found over the weekend while Blizzy was sleeping, and almost every game you entered people were dropping SOJs, Windforces, etc..like mad. If I remember correctly this was like a mod or plugin to another program that had extensive capabilities.

Yes, some of it is just lag, and the rest of it is dupe. This is a dupe method, I'm not completely sure out it works. But I know it requires you to lag the game to do it.

I'm not sure if they are using a private duping method, but I highly doubt it. I think it has something to do with blizzard and the site.

As I understand the Necro bone prison wasn't as much a hack as it was exploiting just another flaw of piss poor programing from Blizzard's part correct? The dupe methods I remember actually exploited code that required 3rd party software. From what I have seen the Necro one was something anyone could do in game...just lag the server and get a roll back.

acctually it was to lag the server into desync. Then get your character into a second game. drop the items, save that state on the server w/ save and exit. then with the desynced character save and exit to save that state on the server with the items. therefore making two of the items. this is more or less patched now by blizzard putting in C/I triggers when you look like you are trying to create enough lag to desync.

wait, they fixed the bonewall exploit...and all other lag exploits...you can no longer make 2 of the same chars in different games with desynch...or so i thought and it's been tested by me? if not i could come up with a lag dupe very quickly

well i just got 2x chars of the same type into 2 games....but i get C/I super fast.....wat do i do after i get 2x of the same in the game?

i could have just found a dupe out but u have to be super fast to do this

i never said they fixed the lag exploits....infact i was refering how they couldn't fix them.....but their solution was to put in C/I triggers, makin it very hard to do this. I dont know if what you think you did was acctually desyncing. There is the possibility that you got them into both games and need something like an autoit script to complete your movements for you. If this is the case hit me up and i will see if it is acctually possible. Most likely though you did nothing....and you want us to talk to you and download something ebcause you know you can't post it on the forums.

from what i have heard.....he really didn't get into 2 games.....he used zone alarm to lock one game out of the internet.....freezing it in place....(this really just dropping him from the game on the server, but not showing it on his screen).....then put that char in another game.....then unlocked the original game....and it instantly drops him.....he was really just in 1 game and any 1 time.
