Who knows about computers?
#21
I bet you could get an AMD X2 4200 or 3800 really cheap now, about 3-4 months ago i was checking around, and $650-$675 was the price, so who knows how cheap it is now. Go for another E-Machines, or a Dell Vostro if you can get one, no trial software crap, no extra crap. IDK if you need a small business for it though. Compaq are ok too. I just do not recommend you get a Dell Dimension, they are packed with so much shit, and I don't know if you know how to reformat. Do not go Sony as they put stuff on them to watch for illegal activity, and will destroy any items with sony's tag that was acquired thru a non legitimate way (limewire, bit-torrent etc) plus they overcharge. IBM/Lenovo are really REALLY good laptops, some of the best you can get, so there desktops should be decent too, but they are a tad bit more spendy (at least for the laptops).

If you mean prebuilt 3800. It is extremely cheap. Way lower than $650. Because like 6 months ago or maybe a year. It was at max I saw $500. The 3800x2 cpu itself is only maybe $100. I bought one at $199 awhile ago. 3800x2 prebuilt computer is probably at $400. 3800x2 Isn't bad either. 4200 I'm using right now :p, self built though.

Amd is garbage atm until they release the new phenom cores Q4. Until then, get intel or wait for their 45nm core refresh (penryn).

And what? Intel's C2D line is cheap as hell right now, infact the E4400 is around $100 and with penryn, it will be even cheaper.

KazeCloud Wrote:$400-500 Imo creates a good computer that can do most things. I can't create a build for you right now, but I recommend putting your priorities like so.

#1 Cpu
#2 Graphics Card
#3 Memory (1Gb is enough if 2Gb becomes too expensive)
#3 Mobo
#4 Hard Drive
#5 Power Supply
#6 The rest

Wrong.

PSU is the most important part in a system. Without a proper psu, providing stable rails, and good amperage you will end up either killing your system, or it just won't work at all.
