Hi. I am hoping someone here can clarify how a ban works exactly. I'll provide my scenario and any help would be greatly appreciate. I have multiple cd-keys, but with my main cd-key (the one I got from my retail box), I make all my characters. I never play Diablo 2 with that cd-key, I always use the loaders with the other cd-keys, and run my bot with all the other cd-keys. So, If I were to ever get caught w/ mh and get banned, would they ban the cd-key that's currently being used and all the account made from that cd-key only? or would they ban the character itself? I ask this cuz I'm playing my main char on a loader that is on a separate cd-key, thinking that if I ever get caught w/ anything, they would just ban that cd-key and not my char.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never been banned but I believe that the cd key being used AND the account it is using gets banned. If I am wrong, I am sure I will be corrected.

Yes, the cd key being used when botting/breaking rules is banned for 30 days and the account is perm banned.

Ok, So If I were to play my friends char (who of course made that char from his computer and from his cd-key) on my computer, and I get caught for something and therefore banned, I lose my cd-key and he'll lose that char?

That is correct. But it doesn't matter who created the account. If any account were to be using a hack on any computer, the key and the account that was using the hack will be banned, if the hack was detectable.

The one time I got banned(well actually my friend caused it) they banned 4 accounts that were all tied to that key, only one of which was in use at the time.
