I have been wondering. The amount of people playing is very low. 50,000. Is that actually a very low number? I mean I sometimes wonder if I'm wasting my time playing something that is almost abandoned by many. I have a good Hdin a leveling smiter at 77 with gear, and 480 Fg. But this thought of nobody is playing it is making me think. What are your thoughts? Thinking about my little brother playing wow too. Somebody persuade me not to play it please. -__-

So your saying it didn't lose too much popularity? I'm sure it has decreased a large amount.

I'm assuming you are only thinking about those playing on Closed B.net? Remember there are whole other communities of D2 players, such as open, tc/ip, and a slew of Single Player D2'ers. I'm just pointing out mostly SP in this because I'm sure there are many players who don't have an internet connection (for some reason) to go online, so they enjoy the SP experience.
Along with this (which includes me) there are players that play modded forms of D2 because mostly the original (known as "vanilla") D2 has gotten a bit repetitive. It's still playing Diablo, just not the same old game - it livens things up a bit with a new gameplay experience.

That was a bitch, however, once in a while It'll say I'm like 28th or so in line to make a game, but it always go to the create game screen after that.

It doesn't matter how play players there are. If you think it's fun play it. Like the others said, try playing a mod on single player, they are really fun and definetly alot harder.

As long as there are sites selling items, there are plenty of people playing. You should start to worry when there aren't any more item-selling sites.

No. For all the people who can't find their items on skills.
I have personally never done it. Very tempting though. No matter how bad you make it seem. Its not very expensive. Imo. Unless its like the beginning of ladder like it is now.

Battle.net has likely experienced a huge drop in players over the last 2 years because of how well Blizzard has ****ed the game. Hell I may even still be playing if 1.11 never came out, that was what really blew the game IMO. 1.10 was perfect because you had good PK, no ubers and alot less of the BS templates now. I'm talking about 1.10 before the new runewords were introduced at the end. It was fun.

In all my time of playing, the single greatest thing I found was a soj. I don't find much stuff, excluding a certain set of items I'll talk about later, my stuff is probably valued at like $50+. The stuff I found is maybe $5-$4.
Now to what I left out on, how did I get all that shit? I keyed constantly, keying constantly led me to get items that I'd never be able to find. In fact some of my best items came from the result of finding keys. Soj, numerous gcs and scs, runes, and numerous items I could trade. I also got my 19/19 ptorch from the result of them too.

For players just starting off, that don't have someone to start them up. Just get enough gear to make a solid keyrunner. Which doesn't take much. Even if he can only do T or H key runs.
People overpay for keys, just because there too lazy to make the runs themselves. Its a good way to make you characters a lot stronger

It took me 3 weeks this ladder to make and was lucky enough to make a perfect mp Enigma, if you would like to know. But we are way off topic.
Why are you telling me what you found and what its worth again?

To prove that even without this "skill" that you talk of in Diablo 2, you can still get rich. It doesn't take much to make a key runner.
Its just like making a mf'er sorce, maybe even cheaper. But a sorce would have an easier job as she does nm at first until you can upgrade to hell.
