Zeitgeist - The Movie, 2007
Debate with me why it's wrong because I know you will...
I'm fully expecting to get into an argument or ten with BlueBleeder about why Christianity is a fake and plenty of others about the other content covered in this movie.

Well. Christianity doesn't have to be real for somebody to believe it. Just because it cannot be proven doesn't mean it can't be true. Any faith is worth believing in. I believe the morals and the teachings of how we should live as a human being of Christianity is worth a lot more than how moses cleared up the ocean. Watching the movie now. =]

Edit: Wow after I watched about 20 minutes of it. God is owned. -__-... But I still do respect everybody's beliefs.

The movie is about historical records disproving god. Don't listen to my mumbo jumbo and watch the movie. Good try though.

Lots of things. I don't know I am not a scientist. But there ARE evidence many evidence SUPPORTING the theory. Just like there is an overwhelming evidence of god NOT existing but a myth which is explained in the story. Now give me more evidence supporting that god do exist, that over weighs the evidence that disproves him in the video. Which I don't think you have watched yet.
No we don't know what happened before the big bang. But what we can see is its effects. Takes a little critical thinking and research.
I recommend watching 20 minutes of it btw. Which is more than enough evidence for me. Still watching.

but isnt that what science is about? finding the reason behind events, understanding why things happen? simply looking at the effects are not good enough. i can't prove that god exists. that is not possible. but i can't prove that god doesnt exist either.
and your right, i havent watched it, nor do i plan on doing so for a number of reasons. one of them being that it will do little to change my opinion.

The video does not have evidence god doesn't exist. It has AN OVERWHELMING PLETHORA x 100 of evidence that god is a MYTH.
I give chances to your opinions. Yet you do not give a chance to watch the video. I can see you cannot be persuaded. I will no longer argue with you.
Ps: Part one of it is just probably a joke. Watch 20 minutes of it please guys.

Science does not attempt to explain that which it can't... Until something of the sort can be experimented with on a small scale or evidence appears to support a theory of a beginning we will never know exactly what happened. I still choose to remain an atheist because of a lack of proof and the many many injustices that religion has created.

Guys if you just give it a chance to watch 20 minutes of it. The first few minutes sounds like a joke though.
Edit: The last parts about 9/11 are just staggering. I never believed in conspiracy. But in the end they join this with how the whole world is going to be one. You guys HAVE to watch this...

In the video they tell you EXACTLY WHY they both die and resurrected again. It has to do with the sun going south, leaving less and less light as the year goes by correct? On about Dec 22, it stops moving south for THREE DAYS, residing in the vicinity of the souther CROSS constellation. Then the sun starts to move north again on Dec. 25th where God is "Borned or Resurrected again" for the oncoming summer.
There are countless amounts of Gods that follows these guidelines.
God was adored and worshiped by the Egyptians, and who was god, the sun. It is the "Protector of DARKNESS" It is LIGHT. Egyptians personified the stars, with myths, we all know that, they have stories of all sorts. The Egyptian gave a human nature to almost all things. The sun, which is the unseen giver of "life giving" qualities, was personified as God. The savior of human kind. There are 100 more facts like this in the video. Starting at 10 minutes.
These are facts, found in your everyday history books, or encyclopedia. Can all these similarities be coincidental? So you would say. "OH JUST BECAUSE ITS SIMILAR DOESN'T MEAN IT ISN'T TRUE" Well it doesn't take a detective to piece this together.

Why does an atheist have to believe in evolution? I'm not a Darwinist, I'm a Humanist. Read up on the shit.
Humanists believe in bettering ourselves through bettering society by upholding justice and reason. In no way does this mean I "have" to believe in evolution. Nice try get out though.

yes, most of the religions are similar. perhaps i was only focusing on the christian god. sorry. i will include all gods. all religions have some type of creation story. that is the attempt to explain why we are here, and other questions that can never be answered. humans have created religion as an answer to why things happen. they have created it because observation and experimentation can only go so far.
