Audio Problem (Desktop speakers)
#1
Thread Title supposed to read Audio lol

Well for my computer, I got 2 desktops speakers and 1 sub woofer. Problem is, sound only comes out of the woofer and nothing out of the desktop speakers. It's not supposed to be like that is it? All 3 speakers came together, the 2 desktop speakers plug into the back of the computer, and the woofer plugs into the back of one speaker. If I unplug the woofer from the back of the speaker, I get no sound confused:

Fixed title

Dan... at least i thought I did, give me 5 min Tongue

Do the two speakers have separate plugs or do they fuse down into one plug that goes into the back of your computer? If it's two, try switching them around in a workable combination, or else you might need to find some kind of adapter that joins the two into one. It seems weird that it plugs in like that, however. Both my speakers plug into the subwoofer, which then plugs into the back of the computer.

ok this is what u need a red/white output from your radio, a headphone jack that converts to a red/white and a red/white input jack that converts to a headphone jack and plugg that into your pc then there u go, and if u got some radio speakers plug that into your radio to get some more sounds. i may have another i will give u another sortly

The two wire from the back of the speakers do fuse into one and plugs into the back of the computer. The sub woofer only has one wire, and it goes into the back of one of the speakers.

Well I have an old boombox somewhere lol, it has two 2 big speakers with two smaller ones connected ontop of them. The big ones come apart from the radio but they don't have the red/white wires. They each just have one, pretty much the same as my desktop speakers that plug into the back of my computer. I look for some more, I have two really old speakers but gotta look for em

i think that this is a software related issue. i would try reinstalling or updating the driver for your sound card.
speakers imo rarely break.. so it is most likely a software issue.

I tried that to no avail. Don't know if I did it right though. I found this under the hardware tab when I go to audio devices..

Then I went here and clicked update driver

The only thing I find weird is that the 2 desktop speakers are plugged right into the computer, so how come no sound comes out if the woofer is not connected to the back of the speaker? When I do plug in the woofer then sound only comes out of the woofer, totally ignoring the speakers.

EDIT - I just realize if I put turn up the volume all the way up on the speaker, it'll make occasional scratchy sounds, don't know if this helps, but at least something is going the speakers lol

hmm..
have you tried plugging in both the speaker and the woofer into the sound card?
or try updating the program that came with your sound card. i know for mine that i have to detect what audio source im using.

Try clicking on control panel. Hardware, sounds and audio devices, speaker settings, then choose your speakers. 5.1, 7.1 etc.

Well, putting this computer back to use again so back to this ****ing problem. I tried that and I noticed a little difference but still nothing. If I play a song, right when it starts, the two desktop speakers will make a slight scratch sound but that's it. All the sound just comes from the sub. So I'm thinking that there is something trying to go the the 2 speakers but not getting all the way, if you know what I mean... Wonder if it could be a problem with one of the wires heading to the 2 desktop speakers.

And about the sound card driver thing, I hope this is the right one, I clicked on the update driver but it said there's no better match to my hardware or something close to that...
