I see alot of people on talking like they know what there doing. WEll im going to give u a problem that is not real at the moment but i have had to fix about 4 computers with the same problem.

OS: WIndows XP
CPU AMD Duel 1.60 ghz
RAm: SDRAM 512 mb
Problem
While booting up you noticed you got a Windows System32 error and can not boot up your computer. You do not have a second PC to ghost the img and you need to save your data. You cant reinstall , how would you fix this problem....

safemode or take the harddrive to a friends house, connect it as a slave device and copy the files to an external disk. then reinstall.

I would do the same. Pull it out, put it in another computer, and copy paste. Extremely easy. You can also link the hard drive to a portable hard drive thing. Not sure what its called.

No...I would initiate a cleanboot....
you have to basically disable everything that loads.....except system level and microsoft services
Start > Run > MsConfig
there you have to disable pretty much everything except Microsoft services

Cleanboot and safemode are different.

Well, I am younger then Juke, I am still in highschool, and have had no formal training. I know alot of people are smarter then me, hell I don't even post much. That is usually because someone already answered, and my pet peeve with wm was he would post the same god damn thing as someone 4 posts up and get the credit, so I try not to do that.

YOUR ALL WRONG!!!!

ok you cant boot in safe mode with a system 32 error, next you need a boot disc such as wbd4win . next you need to swap some files out. when you get a system32 error you have to get to c:/windows/system32/ and there is 5 files in there called "software" "system" "Security" "Sam" "defualt" rename to system.old. to all of them. now goto c:/windows/repair and you will see system sam security defualt software in there just moved them to c:/windows/system32 and reboot reinstall all your drivers and your back up and runningWink nice try though but you all were wrong lol

dont mind the typoes this keybourd is jacked up

Uhhhh isn't it a " Dual" processor??
