#1
if you have a guitar but no stereo and you want to listen to your mp3s on a stereo follow theese simple steps:
1) hook your electric guitar up plug it into amp, turn amp on.
2) stick the headphones RIGHT ON TOP OF THE PICKUPS.
3) turn your MP3 onyour should hear music coming from your amp, if not check the headphones or turn the sound up on the mp3 guitar and amp.
Enjoy!!
(please rate this on a 1/5 1 being a sucky thing and 5 being awesome)

sounds ok, but bass isn't good for guitar amps. prolly want to turn off any bass boosts you have on your mp3.

hah i used to do that...but yea the quality isin't top notch. With my ibanez i can get it pretty darn close with half volume, on bridge pickup and playing around with the tone till i get even bass and treblesmartass2

1.. because your mp3 players have like half inch speakers in it and your guitar amp generally has around 1 12" to 4 12" depending on what ur running..

-the only way to get a solid sound from that is to hook ur mp3 player with a male to male speaker cable and then hook directly to your amplifier and make sure your amp is on clean.. then it sounds alot better.. but playing through your guitars pickups isnt a great idea because of sound clarity..

and if u want to get unreal.. then you can buy a 12" car sub and a power inverter that converts your 120 to 12volt.. and hook your car sub to your computer speakers which will really give some punch.. only one sub is really necessary.. honestly 8" subwoofers out of home theater systems sound the best with pc speakers

I am lacking in the required post count on this site to post a URL. I am sorry that I did not know this and I will make an effort to correct this.

it's a lot cooler when you are playing for real and something like a magnet or a cellphone creates feedback.

What a strange kind of thing to do xD

Just get a normal audio cable, and get a little piece to put in between your amp and the audiocable so it's right size.

Voila, no problem anymore. Although it's called 'clean' sound, whatever you put in there will still be significantly modified by the amp (most of the time that is). If you're looking to hook up a lot of effects on your amp it's good to have a very clean amp, not always that easy to find.

You may notice your amp sounding a bit different when playing guitar just after, at least I do hear the difference.

not true, good clean amps are pretty easy. Any solid state amp that costs more than 200$ has a great clean sound. The reason being is because its just hard connected and there are no tubes. Tubes give volume, and only create great tones when u have that volume maxed.

my Fender has a great clean tone.
