Alright since I'm back on the site. I figured that I would try to help as much as possible.. I don't know much about D2 anymore or other PC games but for any one who plays guitar or wants to play better heres some tips
1. Practice-- Everyone hates practicing, it seems like your getting no where, when in fact you are and don't know it, because every time u pick up a guitar and fiddle around with it.. you become more smoother and much more acquainted with the fretboard
2. Patience-- This is the main thing with guitar or any instrument for that matter.. you wont get good at it in a day or a month.. it takes time to become good at something
3. Know what your practicing-- Pick lessons that will better your playing style.. for ex.. if your going into metal then don't learn how to play blue grass or blues.. go straight into metal that way is the style that you are most comfortable playing in.. it will help you later on.. then when u get bored, you can come back and visit other styles that tie into metal like rock, hard rock, classical and such
4. Pain-- Practice is good and great but too much can be fatal to your playing.. if you develop any pains in your wrist, fingers, or forearm.. STOP PLAYING!!!!! let the soreness heal awhile.. its like lifting weights.. you cant get stronger if you tear a muscle..
5. Scales-- Are probably the most boring thing to play on a guitar, and definitely the most boring to practice on a guitar.. but heres something that scales do.. they improve your dexterity, finger strength, smoothness, speed, and picking.. also scales help ALOT with soloing if you ever decide to branch out into soloing.. here 2 scales that will help you alot and will probably be used alot.. many ppl use these scales.. assuming you know how to read TABlature.. i will post these scales in the key of G.. but its only a scale pattern.. so it can moved up and down the fretboard to be played in different keys..
here is a G Major Scale
e----------------------------------2-3-2-----------------------------
B------------------------------3-5-------5-3-------------------------
G-----------------------2-4-5----------------5-4-2-------------------
D----------------2-4-5------------------------------5-4-2------------
A---------2-3-5-------------------------------------------5-3-2------
E--3--5-----------------------------------------------------------5--3
this scale is great for improving picking synchnorization .. a.k.a. matching your right hand with your left hand.. it also improves speed and smoothness
Here is the most common scale used with all guitar players...
G Minor Penatonic
e-----------------------3-6-3---------------------------------------------
B-------------------3-6-------6-3-----------------------------------------
G---------------3-5---------------5-3-------------------------------------
D-----------3-5-----------------------5-3---------------------------------
A-------3-5-------------------------------5-3-----------------------------
E---3-6---------------------------------------6-3-------------------------
this scale can be used to solo over almost any style of music..
Also one other thing to keep in mind is to always practice something Slow and work your way to speed.. dont forget to play everything on clean and not distortian.. DISTORTIAN HIDES MISTAKES.. so if u play on clean and play smooth on clean it will help you when you go into distortian
well I hoped that this lesson helped a little.. I know when you search for lessons on google.. people like to talk alot of stuff you don't need to hear about and they use big words.. but hey w/e works.. if you want to learn something else or have any questions.. either reply here or send me a message via PM..
Also please tell me if this lesson helped, or if it was crap, of if your too confused.. I plan to go into teaching guitar as a side job.. I have patience with others and like to see them succeed so any criticism would be appreciated..
Always glad to help, keep on rockin and never give up..
