P4 3.0GHZ HT CPU on New motherboard?
#1
Will a socket 775 P4 HT 3.0GHZ work on a new MB? Such as a GA-P35-DS3R? Looking at revamping the home server so if i could use all the old gear (2gb ddr2 pci express vid card & CPU) from the old pent 4 comp on a new Motherboard that supports more SATA instead of getting dodgy SATA Controller cards that only support SATA 1 (No point of SATA2 as PCI slot is already slower than SATA1).

Currently its a Dell Optiplex that only allows 1 HDD. My plan is to use a new case with Welland trayless racks and approx 5 Drives (~750GB each)

EDIT: NVM. Found the CPU Support list. Supports Pentium 4 530 Smile

as long as the socket types are correct, i think that anything would work, though maybe not at full capacity
