Rival Wrote:In this tutorial you will learn how to render an image with the Pen Tool opposed to the eraser, extraction tool, etc...

1. Open desired picture you would like to render...

2. Select the Pen Tool...

3. Make sure settings are as so...

4. Zoom in on the image to around 600% and begin to outline the image with the pen tool as close as possible to the section you want to render...

NOTE: The closer you get the less choppy the image will look when back to 100%. (Every small box the pen tool makes is known an Anchor Point)

5. After you get around the whole image, reconnect the pen tool with the first anchor point you've created.

It should look like this with a solid grey line around the image you want to render...

6. Click the paths tab next to your "History". If you do not have a path's tab, click Window>Paths.

7. Rightclick the only path that should be in that screen known as Work Path. After you've right clicked, select the option "Make Selection...".

Adjust settings as so... Then click ok...

8. Now you should have the selection lines around the area you want to render...

9. Copy the selected part by simply pressing ctrl+c while the area is still selected...

10. Create a new image with a white background, and make dimensions slightly larger than the dimensions given to you, then Paste the image onto the new background by pressing ctrl+v

There you have it... your image is now rendered!

You may have to touch up the render, you can do so by using the eraser tool if need be, but if you got close enough you shouldn't need to...

You can blend the hard lined sides into any background by feathering the selection tool and clicking delete until your sides are blended to your liking...

Good Luck and Happy Rendering!!!

Ok this is a tutorial i made to change the color of you name on your signature.
1.open up your finished sig in psd. format.
2.then what you wanna do is press ctr-shift-m to go into image ready. When you are there press the duplicate frame button which is circled.
3.from there what you need to do is with that duplicated fram open you goto color overlay and change your color to what you want it to turn into.
4.Now on that same frame you need to hit the tween button and make it 100 frames to make it slow and make sure its previous frame.
5.press play and watch it it should fade into your color you picked then it will skip back to the normal color but if you want you can make it fade back into the normal color which i did not do.If you want to do that just repeat the steps but make the duplicated fram the first text color.
6.from there press file>save optimized as>save it as a gif
[Image: Colorchange7.jpg]
Once you have finished you should get something that looks like this.

To add to your Tut there Kem, When you first dupe the frame. Make two of them. When you tween from Slide 1-2 leave #3 and then take the last 2 frames after the tweening and tween them so it will change into the color you choose and back again.

Here is how you get that "feathery feel" with gradients.
You can do this on any layer. So if you have a render on top of a backgound. Do the same thing to the render layer.
I'm going to use my friend Walter.
1.) Click on your layer and then click on "Add Layer Mask" Like in the picture.
It will look like this after you clicked it.
Now get your Gradient Tool. If you don't know how to do this Right click the Paint Bucket Tool on the Toolbar.
Now under File Edit etc... Make sure your settings are like this.
Now Here is the fun part. Take your tool and go from center outwards. Like the pic demonstrates.
It will look like this.
Keep using the Gradient tool untill your happy with it.
Here is my final product.

Your pal,
Kevin

If any questions just post em. If you want the gradient I made White - Black. Here ya go. YES IT IS CLEAN!!! You know you like my arrows Smile I used to write... Got caught.
