i didnt read the entire thread, im lazy... as ive pointed out many times. however i voted for rock. theres alot of bad artists that sing about complete shit, or just sing off whatever anyone else is singing, but rock isnt nearly as repetitive and i can relate alot more to the shit they sing about other than rap. thats where i stand

Yeah and Dark rock and rap have similarities because: much of rap was inspired by rock, rock helped spawn rap, and many rappers have taken beats and riffs from rock songs for their own use (P Diddy even admits to this).

You see you cant ask a question what is better because then we get the uneducated screaming a storm of nothingness much like Dark who decided to defend himself with the "I don't care, I have a girlfriend." routine, and I prolly would be willing to bet he doesnt he's the typical wannabe gamer looking for a home sitting in the back of the class, obese just like all the teenagers now aday whining to his mother how girls are disgusted with him. But not to be completely off topic I hate most rap for simple fact that so few of them write there own lyircs and sing about how they came from the slums, big woop so few of them write there own lyircs and actually get to preform them. Rock is now becoming crap also because of all the parents trying to protect their children from the demonic music. So the good bands have to sign underground labels and a rarely heard of. rock is dieing because people SUCK now. there no rock scene now there was the death of grunge last after grunge died it was basicly over for rock but a few rock artists came out during 1994-now lemme list a few: marylin manson,green day,and (not completely sure about this one) the red hot chilli peppers. rock hasnt and never wil die forms of rock will die but rock it self NEVER. its all about rap now rock is on the ropes right now but not gone. As for dark if you use the "i have a girlfriend,i dont care" line i doubt u do because that has NOTHING to do with this thats like me saying "im mexican so i dont care" its just like WTF

Rock by far, just look at the rap and rock greats, off the top of my head I can name about 20 famous rocker's and 2 rapper's "heh"

Ok, 1. Death; Marilyn Manson, RHCP, and Green Day have all been around longer than 94.
2. Rock isn't dead. There are plenty of great bands out there, and the record label doesn't matter.
3. Dark you have been trying to use the gf card way too much.

Yeah Spoon, Rock will outlast Rap just because I say that doesent mean I dislike rap though.


Some of the greats off the top of my head would be Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skinard and Pink Floyd.
