I think King_Nothing was being semi-sarcastic with the "I'm a great fan" stuff. :\ Just me. And I think that some of the people here are arguing for the sake of argument. There's a thread for that.

King_Nothing I think that part of the thread is dead.
And how do you figure Spoon? Getting down the breathing is just like getting down an instrument.

Considering I am majoring in vocal music and have played plenty of instruments...no it's not. You learn breathing techniques in a beginners choir...four year olds have breathing down...it doesn't take much.

Breathing.. a complicated art. It combines the difficult practices of exhaling(while you're singing, perhaps) and inhaling(when you need air) to create the incredibly complex acitvity we know today as respiration. Ahh, what majesty you can attain by mastering this art.

Because you can read tabs it doesn't mean you know something about music...If you can tune your guitar to drop D without a little gizmo telling you what it's at, then you know music. If you can write a song in G Major and even be able to tell how many sharps in the scale...then you know about music. I know people that can play a guitar or drums and can't even read music but they run off and join a band thinking they are some guru cause they can play smoke on the water...

All I know about music is what I like and don't like...

Yeah... I agree with what spoon said except for one thing.
There are those people who cant read notes or tabs for that matter and are amazing because they know sounds...

Like me for example. I can't read notes, but I can read tabulatures. And yet, i'm the best guitar player around this area.

ok u 2 needs shut up..
Spoon is right in a way because musicians are people who can just feel the sound..
People who play and are good IE me are just there because its fun and not something they wanna do for their whole life.

King_Nothing if you have enough knowledge you can atleast be a song writer yes? But success is a product of talent...you are making a completely different point.
