rock or rap?
i heard a song that takes the riff from crazy train...and a sample of ozzys vocals......i almost killed my self
lol thats scary
Not all black metal is about neo nazis, you seem to be confusing opinions with Beleif, Yes neo nazis suck, but putting them hand in hand with black metal is a bit wrong. i like black metal alot, it gives me a warm fuzzy powerful feeling inside. I like rock, i like emo, i like glam rock. Heck the only rock i dislike is iron maiden.

Well, that is partly correct. A large portion of Black metal is made by 'neo nazis', and they do incorporate alot of their beliefs into their music.

When taken down to it's roots, Black metal is about the eradication of Christianity and the other monotheistic religions. Total eradication of it.

Another big theme in Black Metal is pagan traditions. bands like Burzum and Borknagar are examples of the Pagan black metal.

I can't see either of those bands as god like...
- The members of Slipknot don't even like each other and have to be forced to sit down and write
- Slipknot has a really great show and really great musicians but hardly any of them are being used at their full potential
- Sliplknot's first album was pretty bad
- Korn's latest stuff sucked
- Fieldy just slaps the bass and turns up the volume while Monkey and Head play the deepest/weirdest chords they can (Though they made this style popular they didn't start it)
- Korn is responsible for Limp Bizkit hitting it big (-50 points)
- Neither of them has the influence that I think is required to reach godly status in the music industry

In my opinion only a few bands have reached godly status
- Pink Floyd
- The Beatles
- Led Zepplin
- Tool

Well as far as rock goes atleast I think these bands are among the few that will truly live on forever even after all of them are dead and buried.

This "godlike" status ranking is kinda strange to throw around. I would see the Beatles and Zepplin there, no hands down. But after that...well...to not name a band, I'd have to put David Bowie up there on this pedestal you fellah's speak of.
Bowie is deffinately a great performer and musician and one of my favorites. But godly he is not...how many times do you hear a band say Bowie is one of their greatest inspirations? Not all too often he is usually referred to as one of the best performers but you just don't see his inspiration about as much as the others I mentioned. Of course maybe I'm just stupid but hey whatever.

Well if you are to go by pure inspiration, then you are forgeting about Elvis, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys...and trust me, those three were HUGE HUGE inspirations to many...
I'd put Bowie up in the Godly ones 2. Ohh, yea, the band that sings five to one and people a strange, i'd say they deserve godly aswell. my memeory has lapsed dso i cant remember the name

The Doors? Yeah gimme a break guys I was posting at 1 am. I didn't say it was purely inspiration though I just if you notice, while he has inspired many, Bowie hasn't done quite as much as the previously mentioned in that sense. Elvis I'd agree with with but The Rolling Stones are slowly dying.

[Off-topic] Whoa, what the **** happened to your rep, Spoony?

And if you want inspiration for rock bands, well, let's go the 70s. We got Sabbath and Zeppelin. =)

And have you noticed how more gamers like rock over rap? That gives me hope for the future, yet!
anything but country. unless someone wants to see me gag at new levels.
yeah, i'm feeling the country-gag effect. my whole family listens to it...gag. i like jazz a lot...i know it's not one of the options, but i like jazz more than rap...and almost as much as rock.
back to the gods part...

i think that you should considder queen and chicago when you come up with good bands. i know my post has doesnt mention them but i have really started to experemint with what kinbd of music i like recently. i agree with spoonman 100% on pink floyd being gods of music. queen does have some very good stuff though
I don't think I've ever heard one Queen song I couldn't enjoy. They are great and truly one of the best.
