upgraded uniques

this may sound like a newb/stupid question but ive yet to hear anything of it. can u upgrade something twice??? (ie: gnasher hand axe=gnasher hatchet=gnasher tomahawk)

upgrading the gnasher would suck thou since there already is a unique tomahawk (razor's edge i think). the items worth upgrading as for what i remember are shaft, titans, goldwrap some other stuff..
anyway if you've completed your build, like i did with my hammerdin, then you can just keep upgrading everything as far as it goes. like magefists, increases def by like 10 ^^ anyway be careful upgrading some stuff (ie zaka) since they become the next quality of the item and therefor require more level, str and dxt.

Yes, definately check out the item statistics when you upgrade, because if the increased defense causes you to invest many more statistic points, it isn't really worth it. For example, I upgraded my Frostburn (Gauntlets) into Ogre Gauntlets for kicks, but the Strength requirement is around 180.

casue i can upgrade the lowest form to middle form on non ladder

i upgraded my magefists to battle gauntlets jut for fun on nonladder, no reason, just so they can be different from everyone else

on the issue of upgrading.... i heard that u can put 3 of the same runes in ur horadric cube and transmut them to a higher rune. does this work only on ladder?

Jedi you're my hero, you're spreading the word! i've been telling everyone on here to check bnet first forever but now you're taking my posts cuz i'm usually the 1 to say it and as for the quick answer to his q, yes u can upgrade runes, but only to a certain point about half way through the list, ladder can go all the way, but it starts requiring gems, just for the info if anyone else was wondering, and was too lazy to click the link 0_o
