Worlds best virus attacking me?
#1
Etanol, I PMed you this, maybe others will know stuff too.

I decided to get back onto my mom's computer for a bit and try to fix things up. Apparently things were worse than I thought. After various adware/spyware clean ups, I know that there are viruses still lurking around doing their dirty work. But the thing is, I can't get any anti-virus up and running.

I go to www.kaspersky.com and as soon as the page starts to load, it closes automatically.

I have my Zone Alarm w/ Anti-Virus backup cd, and the installation process doesn't even start up.

I press ctrl + alt + del, click on the processes tab, and mysteriously the processes window doesn't even show up.

I go to start>run>msconfig and it closes within 5 seconds of being opened.

Theres obviously some virus or something keeping me out of these things so it can't be removed. How to fix it, I don't know. Maybe somebody here would know?

Maybe you can try to locate the virus and capture it. One of my friend said he can capture a virus and send it to other people.

I'm not sure if that's true or not, but try to ask people around i guess. ? :S

if that doesn't work try unistalling zonealarm, then

control panel > display settings > advanced > performance
and turn off your video cards
hardware acceleration, and make sure your video drivers are up to date

also try

remove SUN Java Runtime
download & install MS JVM

You can use Norton Antivirus rescue disks, boot with the first one in your floppy drive and off you go.

Edit: Deleting everything in the run section of your registry is not a good idea, you may disable something important.

Nubli i had the same problem, when i opened msconfig it would close almost instantly. I called my computer manufacturer and the were gay and couldnt help so they told me to Re-format my hard drive. So I did and all the problems went away, just back up any important files before you reformat

Edit: Nubli what type of computer do you use? Dell, IBM, HP, VIO, Compaq, E-Machine, Alien ware?

I recently had a virus that would restart my computer within 15 seconds of startup...it sounds similar except yours is shutting down the usual ways to remove it. When I had the virus I had to end about 10 processes in 10 sec, and scanned with Spybot, Ad-Aware, and ZoneAlarm. Since you can't do any, I would suggest going through the C drive and deleting suspicious folders (only if you know they are bad!), but some viruses are running processes so they won't allow you to do that. If that is the case, sometimes add/or remove programs works for me. If none of this information is useful, I would definitely recommend having a professional look at it, or just reformatting the hard drive as someone said earlier.
