You people act like they target you and would hit on you just to piss you off or something. First off, to assume that would hit on you is rather arogant. Secondly, Most gay men claim they can tell pretty quickly if another man is gay so chances are if they talked to you with the intent of flirting they will be quickly disuaded when they figure out you're not gay. Thirdly, you guys seem so offended by it when really you should take it as a compliment. And finally, you say you have no problem with them "unless" which you do in fact have a problem with them.

it's only alive because every so often, some idiot comes along without reading any part of the thread and posts something like "i hate gays cause they is stoopid!" then we have to heave a sigh and knock him down a few hundred pegs

actually, most of society cares much less than you think. the screaming groups in the media that you see get a lot of coverage so it seems that they represent a lot of people
unfortunately, the reaction that most people have to gays is "i'm okay with them as long as they don't hit on me" which i find to be quite a stupid response but not harmful enough for me to care to try to change it
