i didnt say u had to be christian, i said you had to believe. so any religion that believes god is the only god and there is heaven, then he will go. Hell you dont even have to be part of a church or consider yourself part of a religion, its believing that counts.

This verse that you are talking about is called "The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus." Luke 16, 19-31. New American Bible. Yes you can argue that he went to hell, however that is beacause he did not repent, and thus refused God. I have said again and again that God doesnt force people into heaven. In the case of the rich man, he was rejecting God by not repenting. And I will say it again, God doenst force people into heaven. If you reject him, you naturaly woundnt want to be with him for all ertenity. Then the other place would be hell.

As a Catholic, we are taught that there is a purgatory, a place to cleanse us before we move on to heaven. We need to be spotlessly clean before enter the perfect place right? There are two refrences to purgatory in the NAB (New American Bible). One of them 2 Maccabees 12, 42-46 is not in the Protestant Bible, (Kind James Version). These verses basically say that Judas made atonement for the souls of the poeple killed in battle so that they to may raise again. Why would he make atonement for souls to raise again if they were already in hell? These souls were in purgatory, waiting for Jesus to come and save them. The second verse, 1 Cor 3, 15 Saint Paul is telling the Corinthians that when one dies, they loose their body and soul. However, he also goes onto say that they can be saved, but only through fire, hence purgatory.

I am a Catholic, and my thinking is obviously different than say a Protestants, because that was just how we were taught. We use the NAB which contains books that the Protestants threw out. No I have not seen King Arthur, nor do I plan on seeing it. Almost any movie about the Bible or Catholic faith is messed up because of Hollywood or something like that. The most notable examples are The Da Vinci Code, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. There for it is not wise to use movies to prove your point on anything.

I would just like to point out, that the whites that hated the blacks throughout American history is probably because a) they were afraid of them b) different skin color, or more recently like in the 1900s, c) they were afraid the blacks would take their jobs.

I don't think it seems right to categorize myself with the whites of the 1950s or 60s like you said, because most of them had a reason, whereas myself, I have none.
