overdrive max, equalization maxed on high, volume low. combine with rp300 or any boss smart machine, sort of a screaming sound, good for playing fast solos.

overdrive max, equalization maxed on low, volume low. good for playing punk music, again combine with rp300 or a boss smart machine.

also try using a JS guitar like JS-2000 or ibanez. oh and fender amps are alright.

From the little bit of rodie work I've done and the sound testing it seems like it all depends on what kind of music you play. I dont think that there is a "god" setting for ALL music genere's but just optimal settings for different type of music.

For metal scoop the mids. So put mid at 1, treble at 7, and bass at 10. Gain can be anywhere but not too cranked.

Stereotypical(aka dead-beat) metal tones scoop the mids. Kerry King swears that if you really want to crush anyones balls, it's all about the mids. I'm not too big on anything but Blues and Metal, so i'll share what I know:

*I play a JCM 800 Reverb Marshall head, so here's what I use:*

Metal setting:
Gain: 11/10 [Marshall users got me Wink]
Low: 8/10
Mid: 10/10
High: 9/10
Volume: 6[for club-sized gigs]

When I got a Zakk Wylde hair up my ***, I also run a Boss super overdrive pedal. All settings around 12 'o clock.

Blues(I don't gig playing Blues, so I use my 65watt Crate practice amp)
Overdriven channel..

Gain 4/10
Volume 5/10
Low 9/10
Mids 6/10
High 10/10
Reverb 4/10(or off)

i run wahwah and a chrous pedal regardless of what style/amp i'm playing with. guitar wise, if you wanna run high-gain//very fat sounding clean, you need humbuckers.

otherwise, you need a strat/tele style guitar. aka, single-coiled pickups.
