perfect magic find? does anyone know whether the myth about 200MF being better than a high MF is true or not? i mean it doesn't make sense mathmatically and since Diablo 2 is a piece of software it must conform to logical mathmatics... If i'm wrong please tell me, i think that a high MF would be better, and also, how many games you play and how fast you do a room doesn't matter either does it...

Lets say you got 500 mf on your sorc, and you can do 1 pindle run in 25 seconds. then you would in teory find more items than a 800 mf sorc that does the run in 60 seconds, or even die cuz of lack of resistent gear it removed to gain more mf. So speed is a very important factor. The build 1 (500mf sorc)ill do more runs in less time and wont die, and will therebefore find more items than the 800 mf sorc cuz it wont do at all as many runs in the range of, lets say 3 hours. And the 800mf sorc has bigger chanses to die, if it doesnt have alot of goodly charms with resists, but then it cant hold as mutch items that it finds, and have to mule, and then the mule takes alot of time...so it all depends of speed, mf and chanse to die AND space in the inventory.
About the MF bugg, 1 of the rules of MF is that when u get 100% mf u dont get 100% to find a magical item. You just get a a bigger chanse that the items that you find will be that. The mf works also so that it is halved for every 100% more mf u get....so after about 500-600% mf I think it isnt realy neccesary to have more. But it also depends, if u just shall make 10-15 runs its better to have lots of mf, but shall you do 100, or maby 1000 of mf runs, I would consider lower mf to be better.

While higher is always better, it does state on the Blizzard site that the higher your MF gets the less the advantages are [relative] to your magic find. So someone with 200 magic find would have, relatively, better advantages than someone with zero magic find; while someone with 800 magic find would have lesser advantages than someone with 600 magic find.

the way i understand by their statement... I think it means that you get more the higher your MF, but 200 MF is a bigger jump than 400 is so the benefits are less effective (but still more by a little) on a higher mf but not worth obtaining GODLY MF

Actually, at a certain point I think like 500 MF, the amount of rares and magic items increases by a lot, and the amount of uniques found tends to shorten as it rises.

the higher mf the better the chance.. it never gets lower with higher mf. hurly does have a point tho.. so just use standard mf gear and dont waste ur money on the extreme stuff like 6x ist crystal swords cuz thatll just weaken u a lot and slow u down.

You have to realize that mf is all on chance. So someone with 200 mf could have an awesome day just because he is lucky vs someone with 600 mf has a bad day. Its all chance but you have to understand that the higher the mf the more consistent the good days are going to be compared to the bad.
Also, I havent checked this out myself but i believe that the higher mf u have the better chance of a uniques with Perfect stats is possible. Example: Low mf but u find a coa but the coa is like only 11%dr and 24 res, but with higher mf and finding a coa has a better chance of 14%dr and 29res.

I always thought the statistics on an item were rolled (like with dice) when the item is spawned... I may be wrong though
