Honestly, I don't like most of what either produces. But every now and then these genres have their moments.

Metal generally has more thought put behind it. More variation. There's really nothing changing in a rap song whereas in metal you have different verses, guitar riffs, solos. A rap song is generally the same generic drum beat with 2 verses that are the same and 2 choruses that are the same.

hell i could be a rapper, they'll call me notorious W.H.I.T.E whereas today's metal (when you can understand what they're saying  ) all have at least a different meaning to each song while still maintaining that "Metal" sound. but i think all in all the most creative group in a while is sublime. i mean these guys literally sat around the house and came up with shit all day long off their heads and if they had put everything they came up with on record they'd have more cd's than anyone. and they didnt' really follow a certain "sound" really they just did what sounded good in their ears.

Ministry, Oomph, Portian control, wumpscut and Einsurezende to name a few. There are others, but these are the ones off the top of my head. Also, I do feel that the first 2 NIN albums did have a very industrial feel to them. Not the new stuff though.

Old School Metal! Megadeth, Pantera, Metallica (before the black album), GNR, Ozzy, Iron Maiden..etc...
Also liked some of the grunge, Soundgarden expecially. Too bad it died out

well ill porbally get flammed for this but, shit im mean raps not all that bad ill admit i don't listen to black rap (**** EMINEM) im down with the clown, icp kicks so much ***, get down with the cown or bounce the **** out.

True..too true. Rap is retarded, when you sit and listen to it all you here is f**k and s**t and cars and love, and money, thats about it, the rest of the song is huahhahahuehsfjdsfsd. Rap also makes your grammer and spelling bad for example read what T-Pac said... man it makes me laugh so hard.
