As some of you may know (it's not that hard to figure out) I'm from Iowa. And here in Iowa, Slipknot originated. So people, who think they know metal, seem to think that they owe themselves to Slipknot for putting Iowa on the metal map. Let me tell you guys something. No.

So Corey Taylor is friends with a few local bands that are signed to shitty Iowa labels. Right? Right. And so tonight there was a show at the House of Bricks, which is a bar that a lot of good bands, including my brother's, play at. Anyway, so Corey and this guy named Josh from On a Pale Horse (Google them, they're pretty good) decided they wanted a do a tribute to Tenacious D.

WHERE THE **** DO SLIPKNOT FANS GET OFF COMING TO A ****ING TRIBUTE SHOW TO TENACIOUS D? Half, if not all, of the ****ing people came there just to suck Corey ****ing Taylor's **** off. **** those people, dude. Corey Taylor is one of the most arrogant, ****y sons a bitches I've ever seen. Ever. The fans are worse. Whenever Corey makes "a funny" EVERY ****ING ONE had to laugh. And not because it was funny. How does Heavy Metal get into this discussion? Although I wouldn't call myself a huge fan, I have great respect for Heavy Metal. Most of the time, I just tend to listen to Black and Death.

Slipknot is not Heavy Metal. Slipknot is nu-metal, which isn't even called a genre of metal by a lot of metalheads. I mean, compare Iron Maiden to Slpiknot. If You can't make a difference, then quit it all and listen to Britney Spears, because it's probably the same for You.

I despise nu-metal and people who consider themselves "hardcore" because they listen to that garbage. I hope it dies out as soon as possible...

Downfall by Bodom is my favorite. I like the live version better but it doesn't matter. Also, Bodom Beach Terror is kickass. Bed of Razors. All Tool songs are good. Listen to any.

IMO pretty much every band sucks. most bands out there today have like 1 or 2 songs that i actually like and the rest of their stuff isnt very good. really the only band that i like more than 2-3 of their songs is linkin park. NOTE: i am not talking about just "metal" and no i dont think linkin park is metal. i am talking about all bands in pretty much all types of music. except country and teeny pop music...i dont like those

I would suggest the entire Hate Crew Deathroll album by Children of Bodom, it truely is an album with no bad songs, an absolute masterpiece. I haven't listened to their new album a lot, but after HCD, pretty much pick any album by them, they are equally good.

I agree with Tool, SlipKnot does suck, but so do Children of Bodom. I guess I like almost every kind of Metal, except maybe Rap-Metal(?)(Linkin Park?) and Wuss Metal. I believe that was a genre. I'm not really a "Die for metal" fan. So it's not all I listen too. Anyways, most of my post was off topic, but I have at least one or two sentences in there that comply with the thread.

I don't hate metal. I love the hell out of metal, because of it there were 80's hair bands. But slipknot is not metal. Calling slipknot metal is a disgrace.
