On war and the draft, if another situation like Vietnam started up there would be no draft because it's a police action and the government isn't going to be forcing people to go, yes we have changed since Vietnam. The fact of the matter is that we are so well equipped now that we can easily send troops to other countries in smaller numbers and effectively keep the peace. The only reason Iraq is in such dissaray is because they lack an effective non-corrupt police force. There are many percs to legalization, or atleast decriminilization. If you want me to go into detail; sure, I will. It's not just about me. I'm not fighting this war by myself. An overwhelming amount of Americans think that marijuana laws should either be reformed to degraded to a degree of less severity.
Your views on this war just differ from mine. That's all I can say.

Oh no, I absolutely support the legalization of Marijuana and in fact would benefit from it as well. I'm saying your explanation for disliking our government seems like it's based completely on what you can or can't smoke and the parnoid feeling of a draft...

guess i finnaly found a good topic to make a thread about even though there are alot of the same reasons geting said over and over again (fat,ego,war,etc)
i guess i dont really like the us that much just for the fact that the us is one of the most gun prone places around having the most gun related deaths , the racists groups being founded here (kkk)
in canada he have alot of guns more or less shotguns and rifles and they dont even add up to 1/4th the ammount of deaths here

I like America. I'd rather be in Switzerland, but I don't have a ton to complain about here. However, I do believe that we pick and choose our battles not by the urgency of the issue but the profit we can gain from it.
I realize that someone has to foot the bill, but come on... We should be in Sudan, not Iraq. There are so many atrocities going on in Africa now I can't even begin to explain. (And most of those atrocities are linked to Europe's colonization of Africa. Thanks guys) The real reason we aren't going to Africa? There's just no money in that!
I guess I can't complain about the U.S. doing that all that much. The UN certainly does it as well.

the reason the US dropped the atom bomb on japan is because they believed that the japanese soldiers would never surrender and that the US would have to kill about a million more of them to end the war. and then theres all the US soldiers that would have died too...tens of thousands is better than millions isnt it?

I am not a fan of America because they have done some messed up things... but what i do give up to America is that America looks after itself first and then worries about other shit. Pearl Harbour happend... the America got the own back and satisfied the nation... when iraq happened same thing as far as understand America was pretty happy to go to war with iraq in the beggining.

There was always strong opposition against the war, though a little bit more than 50% of the nation supported it, and it was started not because we were attacked but because we were informed that they had weapons of mass destruction or were at least persuing them. It was that intel that got us to the point of starting the war but it should have been done long ago to get rid of that mass murdering bastard.

ever think that maybe there was and still is so much fighting because that there are so many different types of ppl compared to canada? all the races and cultures are mixed up that there will have to be fighting and thus deaths.
