Sweden was neutral during both of the World Wars as far as I remember. Also, I think that Sweden acquired a large part of it's wealth from it's colonial days.

The jews were refugees, they had nowhere to go. They siezed their own land, and defended it from innumerous attacks. They've earned their country in blood, and are much stronger than any of the other middle-eastern countries. The fact that we support them (from what I understand...) is what pisses off all these terrorist factions. Israel is a far stronger ally then the other countries, their citizens have to serve a mandatory term in their military which gives them one of the largest armies in the world. So it makes sense for us to support them. They fiercely protect their borders, which is their sovereign right.

It's not only that we support them but just the fact that we recognize them as a country. Many Arab nations refuse to acknowledge that Israel exists and the fact that the most powerful nation in the world not only recognizes them but considers them an ally...well that just pisses them off even more.
