yes math but your just looking at troop strength active and reserve, you also gotta notice that the USA has a bigger navy and more tanks, also the us has spent 329.6 BILLION dollars on their military where as china has only spent 48.4 billion, yes they may have more troops, but USA has more advanced equipment

if you remember correctly though the sovites did not have a crushing victory, the germans pushed them back to stalingrad where they were held off by russian snipers

My WW2 knowledge is spotty at best, I thought the Russians got pushed back to Stalingrad, and then winter hit. Russian forces/equipment fared much better in their native climate then did German, and by the time the following spring hit the Russians had pushed them all the way back to Berlin

Well, that and the fact that Germans had few to no reserves to back them up (basically the same thing). There was a key victory for the Soviet troops when retaking Stalingrad. It was a tank battle, and I cannot remember exactly how it happened, but the Russians got wind of the German attack plans before the battle took place, so they could easily counter them.

It's a technicality. The Soviet Union was Russia in the sense that that's who it was controlled by. A large amount of the troops in German armies were also from other countries, but I find it easier to refer to it as "the German" army, rather than calling it "the army of the Third Reich".

hes not saying the russians won the war, hes saying the russians had a victory over germany in stalingrad, and if you think technically because the russians were part of the allied forces until the end of ww2 technically they did win in some manner of saying
