Try navigating to "My Computer" then clicking on the CD? Autorun may be disabled.

Do you get a no disk error when you right click on the CD drive in My Computer and select Open when there is a disk inside?.

Might say something like: "Please insert a disk into drive ____" when you try to right click\open. If it does, your CD player is probably toast, if you don't see your CD drive under My Computer, you should go to the website of the company that made the player\burner and get drivers for it.

to see if your cd drive is working properly, follow these steps.
1. go to my computer
2. go into control panel
3. go into system
4. click on the tab that says hardware
5. then click on device manager
6. expand list where it says DVD/CD-ROM drives
(^ only if you have a DVD-ROM drive)
7. right click on any drive
8. click on properties
9. in here you should see the drive's information (if it is functioning properly, the driver, and other stuff)
10. if it says that it is not working properly, then there is big chance it is toast, before buying a new one however, try updating the driver
