The reason this is in the Steam Room is precisly because we all dissagree about The American Government,and what can be done to affect change. Many people see the problems and understand the issues.
Your plan for gradual change is not practical in several ways,not the least of which is realizing just how many things factor in from Countries outside of our own.
Other countries have a vested interest in our goverment and the political happenings over here in the U.S.A. They make capaigning contributions to politicions,hoping to turn the tide of our leaders to look more favorably at that countries needs.Many times bribing occures and votes are bought.
Not all are succesfully bribed ,but too many to make you trust the government.This is true of special interest groups that contribute as well to influence voting. I personally like the president AND voted for him.I vote in all local and national elections.That is how I try to affect change. I do my civil duty,and this is how I express my feelings as a citizen.I have friends as well as relatives in the war and a few died....I still support them for those sacrifices.

Thats the messed up part. Constitutionally we should be able to change our government to better suit us but they have become so powerful and we have become so cowardly that we do nothing. I mean look. Bush's approval rate is like 38%.

First, you forget who started the thread, and no, it wasn't to lure some sympathising noob in to flame him.

Second, I don't need "one more post"; I have all the posts I need. It would seem, however, that you rarely make posts longer that three sentences. If you have so much reason and insight, why do you need to post it one sentence at a time? I think that it is you, who is trying to get "one more post".

Thirdly, how can you tell someone to suck your nuts if you haven't grown any yet?

Fourthly, when I post, it is not because I am "shamed into it". I may not post a lot, but that is because I have an acctual life outside of the virtual world and choose to dwell there frequently. When I do take time to get on the internet, and on BZ, I post, and on occasion I am blessed with the pressence of some arrogant asshole in which I get to flame.


Now, it is assumed that our government is peddling drugs out in order to pay for secretive special force opperations. Not only that, we get dragged into a war that is supposed to liberate Iraq from its tyranical leaders and give them there own government, Democracy. And it just so happens that there is a lot of unrefined, raw oil over there. "Who's going to know if we take just a little?"

You should look at the simple facts before you make an ass out of yourself and act like a child. You may have joined a year earlier than me but that means nothing. I joined at the beggining of this year, and stayed active enough to obtain a Vet position. You signed up a year before me yet in the last month or so, I am seeing your username for the very first time. And the reason I haven't posted in here much, or on any thread in BZ much, is because I am busy finishing up projects before my quarter classes end. I haven't had much time to get on the forum. Also, I have yet to see you make a valid, and overly logical point. The only point I've seen you make is that although you may be in your twenties, you still act like a child. I have made many reasonable posts here, like the one I made earlier. Yes, I was flaming you because you were being retarded and acting like an attention freak. Every time someone posted, you immediatly followed up with a one sentence response. You're just to dense to realize the realevence in posts. might i add that half of your threads are either spam or one sentence posts? it appears to me that anyone (you) attempting the reach vet in such a short amount of time has no life. in fact, it can be argued that everyone in here has no life.. all becuase we post on a forum. that is of course not true.
regarding your second to last post, "Who is going to know if we take a little." lets just say that how the world already views us right now would be enough of a reason for us not to take tiny bit of oil. most of the world already thinks that we are in iraq mainly for the oil, which we are. however, lets not discuss the justifcation of invading iraq in here, there are other threads

First, I reached Vet by staying active in the forums. It isn't hard to accumulate 760 posts in a years worth of time. Also, my posts are long enough to get my point across, which is ussually about a paragraph or so because it is hard for people to comprehend simple concepts these days.

And about my second to last post. I was mocking Bush, hence the quotations. And don't tell me what not to discuss in here, I know what to discuss, I made the thread. It is completly relevant to the issue of Americas government.

you have to realize that the people that burn american flags to protest the war do not hate america. they burn the flags to show how disgusted they are at the leaders of america. the flag is simply the most powerful symbol they can use to attract attention to their cause. they certainly wouldnt persuade people burning bush action figures because he does not represent america as much as a simple flag

I'm still waiting for you to make a valid, rational, and logical post that contributes to this thread. I don't come in here to flame someone or anyone. I come in here because I made the thread and I feel it is my obligation to stay active in it. Otherwise, I would really be spamming, making threads and then neglecting them. We can't have that now can we?

Anyway, on the flag burning issue. It is customary that when a flag is tattered and torn, and some people even believe that when it touches the ground, that is is respectful to burn it, because it has lost it's symbolism and respect. They do it a lot in the south, and I even think there are laws being written in order to stop this act, though I doubt it will happen.

Another thing is, that anti religious acts are and have been taking place for years. Such as trying to take the "One nation under God..." part out of the pledge. And children not being able to pray in school, but a kid can walk down the hall with a big ass pentagram hanging from his chest shouting "**** Jesus". Where is the neutralization?

anyhow, in regards to the flag burning, it is perfectly legal and might i add respectful to burn the flag when it is all in taters. i have witnessed 2 ceremonies, and they have given the flag its true respect.
america is swinging towards secularism. it used to be religious, but then, as yall have seen, it is slowly swinging back to secularism.
