tcp/ip games

when ever me n my cuz try to play tcp ip it never works, its worked untill i got my router. Any ideas?

what kind of router do you have?

linksys broadbang router wit speedbooster.

first, you are probably using your routers address, go to What's My IP Address? Your IP is 72.232.8.58, if you are giving your friend that ip given there, then follow the instructions below, if you are not, then tell him to use that one.







1 - type 192.168.1.1 in your browser

2 - enter the usename and password(it's usually admin/admin by default, if it isn't, contact linksys)

3 - once you're in go to the port forwarding tab.

------- For the name just type Diablo II
For the 2 ports, enter 6112 and 6112
Make sure the drop down tab is on "both"
At the end, I don't know what it is for you, but it's usually 100 or 101.
Now check the enable box and press save settings.
Restart your computer and you should be set.

ok i found port forward range.

Application is blank, Start is 0, End is 0, Protocol is Both, Ip Address shows my ip then a 0, Enable is blank.

O yea, I did this b4 and what I had to do is use the ip address shown in the TCP/IP options. That's the router ip address and it worked for me.

So open up D2 ---> other multiplayer ---> TCP/IP game, ip should be displayed on the top, use that.

Silvertears said for the 2nd one to start at 6112 and end on 6112. It should end on 6119. Also he forgot to mention the 4000 1.

Thats weird, I have both of mine to 6112 and it works fine. I guess that way will work to.
